The rumours of kubica and his sponsor pulling out have been squashed. Williams real car to turn up in the early morning. This is some great sandbagging management
please log in to view this image OH??????? And I thought Horner and Max were just saying the engine is working in the Red Bull like a Swiss clock and better than anything Renault ever gave them ????? (Even though they won 4 straight world titles with Renault) RUMOUR: Red Bull unable to run full Honda power due to power unit vibrations Testing is well underway in Barcelona as the teams work out their new 2019 cars but an issue may have already arisen atRed Bull. According to some early rumours, the team is unable to run full power due to vibrations caused by the power unit. According to ex-McLaren engineer Marc Priestley, the RB15 is currently dealing with a power unit issue caused by the level of vibrations caused by the team's new Honda power unit. If the rumour is true, it has left Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly down on power compared to their rivals and in need of a fix as the Red Bull team continues to get to grips with their new power unit partner. A rumour that has existed for a while, both McLaren and Toro Rosso have reportedly had to deal with the same kind of issue in the past and it seems as though the Japanese manufacturer has been unable to find a fix to their problem. While it is early in the season right now the team will be hoping the issue can be fixed before they arrive in Melbourne for the season opener next month.
The Honda Vibration is an interesting one. Helmut has been bragging about huge gains etc. I do hope they are not doing a 'McLaren' and overstating things. But I can't really see that as they don't seem short of sponsors. I also read a translated interview with a Honda boss saying they want to be winning by Monaco at the latest!!!!! On the one hand I hope the rumors are not true and Honda have solved the vibration issues. On the other it would be good for Red Bull to get taken down a peg or 2. That may cause them to pull out of F1 though and maybe switch to FormulaE. I thought Red Bull have a full chassis dyno? Surely they would have found the vibrations very early on and solved the issue? Realistically RB have been investigating Honda for probably 18 months, with the last 12 they even had on track data!!!! I can't imagine the rumor is true.......
Williams finally get an installation lap in. Seems like they are suggesting it was multiple issues that caused a domino effect in stopping them being ready!!!! Hopefully they get to proper testing soon and they have a good car.
I wonder where Toto is going with this bull? Hahaha, Mercedes hasn't even attempted a quick lap yet, but he is trying to dupe somebody? lol. Ok Toto, go sit in a corner...lol Ferrari quicker than Mercedes, Wolff admits 16:08 20-02-19 Today, 16:08 , by Matthew Scott Toto Wolff says Ferrari appear to have delivered a quicker car than Mercedes in the early stages of pre-season testing, having opted for a different approach to tackling the new aerodynamic regulations for the 2019 season than the Silver Arrows. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets across the first two days of testing, although lap times at this stage of the year are largely immaterial due to the varying nature of team's running. Interestingly, Kimi Raikkonen delivered an even quicker lap time than the Ferraris on the third day of action in Barcelona driving for Alfa Romeo. Amid tightened relations between the Scuderia and the team formerly known as Sauber, both teams share a strikingly different front-wing design to much of their rivals, with Wolff suggesting that their approach has reaped rich rewards at this early stage of 2019. "Of course we have not had a huge rule change from the previous year to this year, but you can see two different aerodynamic concepts at the moment," Wolff told RTL. "At the moment it looks like Ferrari has found that sweet spot. The car is quick on one lap and the long-run too. "Now it's important to analyse, where the advantages and disadvantages are of the respective concepts. "But after only three days, they are very fast – faster than us – and we have to respond now." Neither Lewis Hamilton or Valtteri Bottas have set eye-catching lap times thus far in the test, but last year's testing came without a headline time and the Silver Arrows won a fifth straight championship regardless.
Mercedes didn't last year did they? Didn't even run the soft tyres. Looking at the lap times they are following a strict delta.
Mercedes just look to the eye fat with fuel and we know almost without question they run conservative power modes in testing, especially week 1. They’ve revealed nothing yet. Renault are the one team outside the big 3 that have just gone quietly and steadily- they caught my eye but probably not enough to threaten the front 3 just yet. Hopefully closer than last year though
A typo on the Mclaren website appears to have listed Max Verstappens sister as running in 5th place in the timing screens today
I don't think Renault have used DRS yet as their wing snaps when they do!!!! So that will make them a bit closer.
