I have said before , Take Horner , the Helmet out of the equation, and I like the team . I didn’t include Max because they are guilty of letting him behave the way he does .
What was lovely about that race, was that Charles had Max beat regardless of the RBR issues later in the race. Such a mature drive, and really lays out the start of hopefully a great season. Once Mercedes sort their stuff out, it's going to be really competitive.
Nice that Mercedes isnt the best car for once, last time they didn't was like 2012 or 2013. Leclerc vs Max be interesting. Mercedes probably be back to there best by mid season.
And I'm hoping Merc get on top of their woes sooner. And that McLaren figure their probs...the more teams we have in this fight, the better. Today we got a glimpse of how the racing can be in this new era, and I'm bloody excited by it. Hopefully no absolute stand out best package and some ding dong races.
I am ready for next Sunday already! Catching up on post race now Indy and the football is done. And I totally get Max's frustration at the end. He seemed to be getting no information from the pit wall as to what the problems were or if there was anything he could do to remedy the situation.
OK so I'm not Max's biggest fan but he raced fairly today!!!! Which was a surprise! The battle with Charles was great, real cat and mouse stuff.
A lot of chat saying Mercedes PU for various reasons is not where it needs to be. Managing engine cooling and E10 fuel issues. That does not bode well for Saudi which from what I remember was super high speed?
Catching ip Who'd have thought that Merc could suddenly become the worst PU and Ferrari looking to be the engine to beat? Utter bonkers in such a short period. Merc have like what, .5 of a second to find somewhere? That's massive. Even more for customers.
Yes, although it ended when Max overdid it and ruined his tyres. Max is fast and aggressive, but he needs to show he can be canny too.
