My thoughts go out to my birth country today on it's National Day but I hate to say that few give a rat's arse about celebrating it or possibly not having a clue. How strange is it the rest of the world all know when St Patrick's Day is, along with Burn's Night and several others. I can't remember ever having had any kind of celebration on England's National Day during my time there up until 1975 when I left for Canada where July 1st is celebrated all across the country and it is a day off work for all, but they do not celebrate in Quebec but chose to name the same date as Fete National.
