This thread is an opportunity for posters to give their opinion on the direction the trust should be taking, the aims and objectives that should be considered and ideas that the trust could discuss with the club at future meetings. For those not familiar with our existing aims and objectives, they can be found here - http://hullcitysupporterstrust.com/hcst-vision-aims-and-objectives/ Debate is fine, but lets try and avoid any slanging matches on this one, thanks.
Will the trust be responding and commenting on suggestions directly on here, or is it more for ideas to be posted, discussed among fans and then considered later by the trust committee?
Just to keep stuff in one place then... Radio commentary feeds on the club website. Think of the increase in traffic to their site! I'm guessing this aint the appropriate place to request the removal of Swanny and Gollum?
That largely depends on the nature of the suggestions made and the ability for individual members to be able to respond to those suggestions. Some will be straight forward, such as Happy's commentary suggestion, I suspect others may be more complicated and may require some consultation before the trust can respond as a group. We've not really done this before, so we'll have to play it by ear.
That seems fair enough. I'll get my thinking cap on. One thing that comes to mind, is something I raised before, the trust acquiring a street traders license and offering 'Unofficial Hull City' products for sale around the ground. It's a visible presence, and could raise some funds. It also paves the way for supporters to suggest different products and designs that could be added to the range. As an added bonus, it could highlight the value of the continued use of the Club name.
We already have a Hawkers License, we sorted it so we could sell the scarves outside games, so there's no issue there. We have already discussed inviting people to design things, though the discussion we had largely centred around a design a new badge type competition. There are copyright issues with regard to Hull City branded goods, hence the 'City' and 'irrelevant' tees we've sold previously, but there's certainly scope to expand the stuff we produce.
It'd be good if people chucked a few design ideas onto here, The 'Irrelevant' tee shirts that someone from Amber Nectar produced were first rate. Could go for a gawdy amber based retro look. "Tie Dye when I want".
I appreciate it's hit and miss and hard to arrange, but I know a few from CI fanzine used to try to meet up with away fans for a game of football odd games prematch. It seems a reasonable way to spread the message and get people involved, even though I can't see it being for more than a few occasions a season.
I know the abolition of disabled concessions angered some fans. Any lobbying/help the Trust can give would be appreciated by those fans, although I suppose that's depending on having a working dialogue with the club.
On that one, the whole FWG have opposed the abolition of the disabled concessions. We're supporting Kate Ogram, who has had ongoing discussions with the club and is supposed to be attending a meeting with both the club and Level Playing Field (who advise clubs on disability issues), though it seems to be taking forever to arrange.
Fair point. I think there could still be ways to walk that tight rope, though it would need care. I guess I'd best shelve the hip flask idea then.
Is there a possibility of pulling together a trust junior team, or perhaps some opportunities to help disabled supporters to have a team in a suitable activity? I know it's City fans that are prominent in the wheelchair football team.
1 - stadium wifi that actually works 2 - French fries added to the food menu 3 - half time entertainment similar to the crystal palace cheerleaders
Has the trust looked at ways to improve the match day experience and atmosphere? Get more people singing and more sitting spectators to stand up and support the team. Can you also find out who was responsible for the seat move to the north and who was responsible for its poor execution?
