I hope you and your loved ones are are safe and well. Please feel feel to contribute to the new thread I have posted - Whether Leeds deserve to be promoted if the season were to be terminated today. https://www.not606.com/threads/if-the-season-ends-today-do-leeds-deserve-to-get-promoted.383128/
Hi Elland. To me it is not so much do Leeds and WBA deserve to be promoted, both teams are quite clear of the teams below, and played the same number of matches ... but more what happens to the playoff place? Do you scrub that and just make it 2 up 2 down Then you have the problem of AVilla and Bournemouth in the bottom three places. To me I would be happy; as happy as one can be in a truncated season. but tbh although on a 6 game unbeaten run , we thought we might do something surprising, in honesty we would not have.
To be honest, Elland, I really don’t know. Whatever is decided there’ll be winners and losers right across every league everywhere.
...but not before they return Austin, Phillips and Furlong to the mighty Rs for free and pay their wages for 3 seasons.
The season started and has gone a long way, so it should be finished when the virus allows. If that really turns out to be too problematic when that time comes, then cancel the season and start again.
I think with what's happening at the moment football really isn't important. Hopefully as few as possible pass away and when it really is safe to restart a decision will be made that won't please everyone. If it favours Leeds so be it...
I propose there’s a fight to the death between the Liverpool team and the Leeds team. Liverpool win they get the prem title if Leeds win they get promoted. I literally see no downside
If our glorious surge to sixth spot is to be denied then nobody should be happy. No completion of the season then you have to reset to as if it never happened. Wonder what happens to Bolton in that scenario.
No chance for them, sadly. A club close to my heart. AFC Bury had applied to join somewhere way down the non-league pyramid not long before all this.
Trouble is if this goes on too long the football pyramid will resemble a molehill, so many small clubs really are on the brink...
