To be fair to Aspas thats a decent finish from a rising ball,got over the top of it well.

Still don't think he will make it at LFC though

 

It was a good finish and if it had been Suarez then we'd be making a bigger deal out of that goal.

Not really....if he'd missed that he'd have deserved shooting. Me nan would have slotted that Played ok though Aspas but get the feeling the opposition wasn't far off his level. He looks a championship player at best still.

Hendo was probably my pick of players although Alberto looked decent too and Jones deserves a mention for a boss save when it was still 1-0, Kelly did ok as did Aspas, the centre backs were fairly untroubled (mainly because the Oldham set pieces were particullarly ****), Sterling was more of a danger second half, Gerrard kept the ball moving nicely most of the game.

 

What did you think to Anton Rodgers when he came on? Can we expect the boss to sign his son?

Yeah but it was handbags mate nothing more....that's not the reason we won't sign him put it that way

 

He didn't gain an advantage by the ref playing on, he was tackled more or less immediately

 

But once you give it thats it I think, you cant say if you're tackled in 2 secs we'll give you the free kick

 

He could have just been signalling that it wasn't a foul; ie play on

Maybe he was playing on and the foul came so soon after signalling thats why he did the head movement as if to say "WTF"

 

I just think he had a Michael Jackson moment, he maybe saw Nani in the stands and it reminded him of him
