What he will claim though is that they are professional outfits which only do larger venues and generally charge an admission. TBF he is right in that respect. I'm personally not that keen on Floyd, but do from time to time get dragged along to Floyd bands, as a couple of mates are well into them. I also think that Floyd doesn't particularly do well for pub type bands.
HIAG plays middle of the road rock covers, like a lot of pub bands do with blokes of his age. Not sure why he feels the need to try and make out that it’s something it isn’t.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I love watching pub bands. It's when he try's to tell everyone that he's going to do something unique. It's funny pointing out that ships already sailed and he's missed the boat. Going to see a Blondie tribute band next week. Not sure if I will like it but I know the drummer, which is why I'm going.
Yep agreed, nothing wrong with that at all. It really isn’t my cup of tea, as I find that sort of music pretty boring, so I’ve no desire to see aging rockers trying to do covers, thinking that they are David Gilmour or Jimmy Page. Like most of the stuff HIAG has tried to boast about on here, the reality is a watered down, grey haired, podgy round the middle version of it. Not sure why he tries to claim otherwise really seeing as most people have seen what he does.
Agreed, we used to have Genesis & Zepplin & Purple tributes at my pub but at £500 a night you could never sell enough beer to cover the costs but as we only booked them 4 times a year as a thank you for the customers. A whole evening of just one genre I found was a little self indulgent hence the time span between bookings.
Both bands are pro outfits . And even if they were not, do you know how many thousands of semi pro bands there are? Let me refine my statement... There are no bands within sixty miles of me that play any Floyd, other than us. Indeed, we are known for playing Floyd, among venues, bands and punters.
I said "on the semi pro circuit" from the start. Our act goes down supremely well in pubs. It's why we are learning more Floyd, so that we can perform an entire evening of it, and get paid more.
Yeah seen some of your concerts via Facebook but yet to see more the 20 people. But I’m eagrel waiting to hear Daz the Spaz screaming comfortably numb out of tune in his helium inspired tribute to Noddy Holder.
Fair play mate ... although that last para does come across rather like "I am known for shopping in Aldi in Hemel Hempstead among residents, shop staff and the Big Issue guy" ... not quite a global phenomenon
First off, are they ****. I've previously conceded on Just Floyd as they are trying the professional route, but were a pub band at the time. On Thin Ice are a pub band, nothing more it nothing less. As for the 60 mile radius bit, that's not what you said. Admit you got it wrong and move on?
Hobbies: Rowing Getting smashed Music Bird watching. ****ing You can actually do them all at the same time too, which is handy.
We play our circuit, which covers mainly Dorset, and parts of the bordering counties of Hampshire and Wiltshire. How would we be a "global phenomenon?"
I forgot one of my favourite Shooting. The other day I was looking for my cap but kept finding guns ffs. I did find the cap eventually.
By the power of the internet and some surreptitious doxxing. You are now well known in Jakarta and I have heard you have a keen following in Northern Thailand.
