Yeah. Many thanks. Funny, last night a lot of ours watched your match at Pompey and said there was nothing to be frightened of there. I imagine a few of yours will say the same tonight. Funny old game innit....
Most incredible scenes I’ve seen at a Charltoh game in 40 years. Crazy at the end. The Moderator was on the pitch like a gazelle Wembley Wembley
I have just started breathing. My 65 year old body reacted like a 21 year olds. I was on the pitch as well. Very poor tonight but we did it the Charlton way.
Absolutely incredible achievement reaching Wembley with a squad containing ONE striker. Going into a game like this with no options up front, and surviving extra time (just), is ridiculous.
The white haired couple (seventy something) sitting in front of FHB and myself must have been on the pitch before Rowe got back to the centre circle,,,, they were on the pitch singing & dancing at North Upper and waving to their grandchildren.... amazing
Not at our best tonight by any means. That’s Cullen’s worst game of the season, and even Taylor wasn’t great. Parker went back to being Parker, and the game totally bypassed Albie Morgan. Fair play to Doncaster, who played some tidy football and took their chances. Williams must start alongside Taylor at Wembley.
Agree, unless Igor is fit. You never know. Ironic that Pratley scored the goal that got us through, as he seemed to be a defensive substitution at the time.
Yep, we got pushed too far back in the second half, and Pratley was the main culprit. Too many sideways and backwards passes, and Dillon was time wasting from the 60th min. We dodged a bullet tonight, but after the 5 years we have had...we deserved to.
Let’s hope that last night’s performance was an aberration, triggered by nerves. The players will have to handle the tension far better at Wembley. They stopped doing the basics like passing the ball forwards. We are not suited to being a defensive team that time wastes and breaks the game up. Taylor, Bielik and Cullen can play a lot better than that. I don’t think having Pratley in the team helps, even though he scored.
Sunderland have already been to Wembley this season, and they won't have enjoyed losing there. They'll want to put that right, as well as pay us back for 1998. Their players have the experience of playing in front of 85,000 fans only six or seven weeks ago. That could make a critical difference unless Lee Bowyer gets the attitude of the team exactly right.
Just watched whole game again and you are right many times there is a pass on going forward but we took the defensive option , Bielik was guilty of this a few times . When we play forward with a quick tempo we look a class above . I think last night was a dilemma of whether to stick or twist. After the first goal we had a 5 minute spell we’re we looked full of confidence and dangerous and then they scored and we went on the back foot and stayed on it all night. Agree Williams needs to start at least he just thinks forward, going to be a tough game whatever this is Charlton
This is as positive as I'm going to get. I really thought Charlton would win that second semi-final with relative ease.
