So lack of money isn’t the reason for low crowds at City? Wrote quite awhile ago that a report on disposable income said that the 2 cities with the lowest disposable income were Norwich and Brighton. But their grounds are full.
We only have one football club. Was pointing out the disposable income angle. Maybe they are more of football cities or have people who are keener on football? The disposable income thing is why the concessions thing doesn’t bother me on a personal basis. With my pension, the wife’s pension and my private pension and no mortgage I have more disposable income than one lad and his girlfriend have at the end of the week after rent etc...And as an individual more than my single lad has after working a 60 hour week when he has paid rent etc. Though not all OAPs are in that position. Concessions for young people are very important though to build the fans of the future. As I put in a post about our reduced prices for kids a week or so ago, Wolves prices for under 12s start at £6 for Category A teams. Kids watching them play the likes of Man Utd and City, Liverpool etc in front of a full house is the way to get them hooked.
One football club, but two rugby league clubs who, I'm sure it has been mentioned on here before, fight us tooth and nail for everything in this city. Exposure, sponsorship, even young players, and of course support. There is a reason FC offer kids passes for a quid a game, and I'm sure that includes free entry into away games, or it used to do. It's to catch them young and hopefully keep them. Hull City should be matching them on price for kids at least.
Indeed. Mind you some prices are surprising. Was in the Cotswolds and had a few conversations in a pub about rugby union with a bloke who supported Gloucester. Looking round Gloucester was surprised to see a large, well stocked club shop. Thought I might try and watch a game. I had worked out that this bloke’s, who was an OAP quite a bit older than me, season pass worked out at £28 a game, a bit less if they had a run in the European competition as it included some of them, was higher than I would have expected.. Then I saw the walk up prices for the next game £52 adults, £28 for kids down one side £35 adults £18 kids behind the posts. Still nearly a full house of 15,000+ despite my absence. They must sell a lot of season passes with those on the day prices.
That’s branding for you... to be fair there’s only so much you can do with a trains interior design, they’re all basically the same in different colours. the important thing is that they’ll be more reliable, faster and smoother (and better for the environment) *and yes I realise they won’t be faster on some stretches due to the track needing upgrades

How much will they reduce the duration of the trip to London?? I go from York - the non stop service is 100 min
My Mrs is in London 2-3 times a week. She now catches the train from Doncaster. So unreliable was the Brough service.
At least it's owned by a company with a proven record of attracting retail and commercial use in their developments. As an aside they bought the whole site, at auction, for just twelve thousand quid! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
