All is not good in the Charlton camp, takeover fallen through & the senior mgmt team trying to sue each other. Fantastic news!!
The majority shareholder Tahoon Nimer 65% has instructed the most expensive lawyers available to get the Exec Chairman out... as was stated on TS this morning, if the players turn around and say this is affecting them, they only have to look at the bottom 6 and know they have the worst squads with the worst records...
Technically, he's not allowed to own the club, as he's failed numerous times to provide the funding information requested by the EFL, so up to now, he's not passed the directors test and has not been accepted by the EFL as the owner of the club.
I think it was Dynamo Bucharest he was additionally trying to purchase... anyway its moot, lets hope it doesn't have a galvanising effect on Saturday..
If there ever was a "must win" game this surely falls into that category. A loss will drop us into the bottom three with no wins in a dozen games or so, whereas a win could move us up several places, restore some confidence, and put us two more wins from safety. Its obvious that McCann needs to change his formation and tactics. Sitting deep and hoping for counter-attacking goals led by our wingers is no longer working with Bowen and Grosicki gone. Our possession stats are averaging 40-60 or worse since early January. The mid-field is a sieve, the back four without DeWijs looks disorganized and error prone. Our offense is non-existent. McCann needs to go 3-5-2 and press Charlton from the start. Their form is almost as bad as ours. If the first 15 minutes show another 30-70 possession stat against this weak opposition our season is over. The mid-field must push up and support a sustained attacking capability. An early goal either way could determine the result. I'd go... Long Pennington McLaughlin Elder Lopes Honeyman Irvine Stewart (or Batty if not fit) Maddison KLP Magennis (or Balogh) Tafazolli Batty and Balogh as usable subs. If we press and take the game to them early I'd see a 2-1 win. If its the usual McCann sit back we'll lose and relegation is probable. And he must be OUT on Monday.
Unless McCann changes tack, we have no chance. "So Terry, how do you explain this slump in our fortunes at your next job interview?" Think on
Your EFL quote above says he has passed the owner test, but not stumped up the moolah. Frighteningly, not having any money doesn't seem to prevent you from being considered fit and proper in EFL-world!
Still got to pass both parts to be able to run a club in the EFL, it seems they've got tighter on things since the events at Bury, Oldham etc.
At least we can win something. Our **** show is far superior. On the field whilst Terry continues to be a deluded ****wit - we’ll lose.
Obviously they would what? Take pleasure in upsetting the 'hooligan' fans? Ehab thinks he can do what and be a success? They will probably cut costs (which is what I said) although I am not sure that they will 'have to' necessarily.
