The whole idea of playing it at Craven Park is just really sad. It's blatantly just yet another cost-cutting measure which continues to play the club down. The Allams' only technique seems to be to reduce costs, but by doing so they continuously demote the idea of watching the team. Closing stands every few minutes and now even downgrading to a smaller stadium just for the sake of a few quid. It'll probably knock enough off the crowd to negate any savings, and long term this policy will do way more harm than good. This is where a Pearson or even a Duffen would be continuing to promote the club. Banging that drum. Back in the Pearson days it was all about building this new ground and then quickly filling it, and then the talk was about expanding it. Now it's just all about cutting back and shrinking everything about the club. It's the same with employees. Any normal business celebrates the opportunity to expand and employ more people. To grow and increase its footprint and appeal. The Allams only ever think about who they can lay off next and how much it will save. Such an utterly depressing pair of people.
Presumably another one of things that only affects us. We've had plenty of pre-season friendlies at the KC before.
Core blimey. The comments on here are just crazy. Why? If you got nowt to say shut the **** up. Every day we have to wade through such rubbish. Take your silly little comments and shove em were the sun dont shine. Rant over.
I don't like the idea of playing at Craven Park as it might provide a spark of an idea for the Allam's or maybe a dry run for a future scenario that is yet to unfold. Anyhow, I'm happy to go with the reason that the ELO concert just over 3 weeks ago was the delaying factor in the new pitch which has meant this one-off excursion to the east of the city.
I wonder if Man U Chelsea etc fans are complaining about where their friendlies are been played?? It's across the ****ing river ffs there's tarts on here what bus, how to get there ffs How do they get to an away game ffs. Ffs
Do you think Man U or Chelsea would play a home game at a nearby small club's ground for the sake of saving a few quid on stewards? It's pathetic. They give the impression that hosting football matches is just a financial burden. One of the first things that needs to happen if these two ever do **** off is for someone to come in and breathe some ****ing life into the club. Stop playing it down, shrinking it and giving people reasons not to go. Actually promote it. Generate excitement about the club rather than just touching oneself over the prospect of reducing costs further.
I don't believe the KC pitch needs to be relaid in late July. It's never interfered with friendlies before and we've always had them at this time of year. We used to have them a lot more often in fact.
The big clubs like Man Utd & Chelsea don't play any home friendlies, all their pre-season are on tours. East Hull Tigers..
My mate told me that the last pre season friendly at home was years ago. Dunno if it's true, I pay zero attention to friendlies.
