He had a Rolls Royce with a 'JR' number plate and in the small writing above the private number, it said something like 'JR hasn't been shot'.

the first game was typical city. They had zero points, don't think they had scored a goal and they win 3-1.
The return game was played during a very cold snap with snow all the way from Hull to there. The game only got the go ahead the day before!
    Q.who scored for peterboro?
    A. Terry McCann from the spot.

Went to London Road via train, the very early London one, with about 30/40 others, mainly blokes, not expecting to be met by an absolute army of local plod complete with dogs on the platform when we arrived well before 9.00 am. They rounded us all up and said they were going to escort us to 'a pub' which was nice because it was well before official opening time.
It was a Wetherspoons and we were told to stay in there until about 2.30 pm when we would be escorted to the ground 'for our own safety'
Anyhow after an hour I found a fire door that opened onto a side street ( more of a back alley) and across the way was another fire door to Marks @Sparks. The second one of their staff came out for a smoke we were out of Spoons, into Mark's and then into the centre of Peterboro were we could drink where we wanted too.
We managed to clear the pub quite quickly before the army of police keeping guard outside realised we had all gone.
