    I totally agree
Its like if i walk into town with hat, gloves, scarf and coat
When you get in pub its to much gear.
You spend half your time messing around with it if you go in half a dozen hosteleries

Realm - Brilliant. They are responsible for two of the worst discount outlets in the UK - Doncaster and Castleford. I am now more than ever convinced this is a bad idea. They won't be 'premium' they'll be the same ****e that they have at Donny and Castleford but just on a smaller scale. I bet in 2 years time they are wanting new ideas to turn around the fortunes of a flagging discount outlet.

Do you think 'premium' shops are more likely to be popular in Princes Quay though?

Probably a better chance than what we're likely to get. With only 28 'outlets' I really can't see the point.

Just back from a few days in Hull and had a good look around at what's in the pipeline. I have to say it all looks promising to me regardless of whether it gets finished in time for 2017 or not. Couple of things stood out though, there are loads of things of a historical/architectural/cultural nature to interest visitors but, (1) I'm sure they could have retained at least some access to Ferens Art Gallery during whatever they're doing there, (2) Whitefriargate is a shambles, not the paving, that will get finished, but the empty shops and the quality of the shops that are there, maybe once it's finished it might attract some decent tenants? (3) the Hull 'shopping experience' leaves a lot to be desired. Visitors like shopping and spending money but, to my mind, there is barely a decent shop in the whole city centre.

Had breakfast in both Thieving Harry's and Tasty, both to be recommended, also the fish and chips in Minerva.

    Update:

    I don't know how true/official this is.

Somebody working at Van Mildert has said their store is moving down a floor to make way for the outlet floor on the third.

Adidas, Reebok and 16 others have signed up for stores on the third floor.

McDonalds, Subway and Costa are some of the names signed up for the ground food floor.

Not sure what's happening with JD - a move to St Stephens mentioned.

JD or the former JJB? unit next door would be PERFECT for a Wetherspoons, throw in some outdoor seating like Pizza Express on the other side and the jobs a good un.

Guaranteed to bring some life back into the place.

There's an update in the Hull Daily Mail today.

    http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/next...major-brands/story-29848836-detail/story.html

In short, they've confirmed Next, Ben Sherman, Bench and Sole Trader as some stores moving onto the third deck.

7 new café or restaurants too on the ground floor. Some are shown in the photograph but no other names mentioned.

All expected to be open by Easter.

Also, the gym has closed down. They were given a year's free rent then realised they couldn't afford to pay the rent after that and closed. Shame really. Van Mildert has moved down a floor.

Next is exactly the sort of retailer they needed as an anchor tennant.
