That was just providing further grist to the mill for the sacking he craved. He's a cold, calculated ****. Allteration intentional
The thought occurred to me that perhaps he'd been nice to us deliberately in order to push things beyond the point of no return. It never went down too well with us when Woy was flaunting his admiration of Fergie. Of course respect for accomplished adversaries isn't a crime, but some things are best left unsaid if you want to stay onside. José had had enough for a while, obviously - but he couldn't walk and miss out on his massive compensation payment so he made it impossible for them to keep him.
Absolutely right. The key to not losing the fans is not to admire or praise the rival team or manager. I remember just before Moyes was sacked he said he and his team aspired to be like City. That completely destroyed his credibility in the eyes of the fans and the board. Basically he's just admitted his team was inferior not just in one match but over a longer term. He was a goner. Once Mourinho said his team was inferior to Liverpool's he's signed his sacking warrant and his massive "compo".
done on purpose, he left his best players on the bench against us. the mans an asshole, not an idiot.
He had to do something quite drastic to get the board to pull the trigger. Difficult to imagine but a manager deliberately sabotaging his own club and betraying their fans to get compensation is quite low. It is not as if the man was on low wages.
Van Persie. Won them the title so money well spent but it was definitely a case of not buying for the future. Was very much a one season signing with no re sale value.
Ole until the end of the season for United then. Strange one, forgot he was manager at Cardiff but had a terrible record.
As soon as he said it, I turned to the people next to me and said "He's just said sack me now please"
