    ...who would be who?

    England = Tottenham

    Fans expectations are constantly too high, and team is forever failing to reach such ambitions. Bit of a joke among other football fans.

    Spain = Man Utd

    Lots of recent success, but currently just coming off the back of a dismal campaign.

    USA = Swansea

    Traditionally egg-chasers, suddenly there is a new found optimism for the beautiful game due to their teams being good to watch.

    Italy = Chelsea

    Boring as hell and cheat a lot. And wear blue.

    I'll stop here and let you lot carry on. If you want to disagree with mine, fair enough...

    Costa Rica = Southampton

    Exciting young players who will give the big teams a tough game but unlikely to threaten a major shock.

    Chile = Southampton

    Used to be pretty good, then weren't for a while, but now are perhaps better than ever, or at least getting there. Playing beautiful football, and all the football hipsters like them.

    Southampton is of course like watching Brazil...can play brilliantly, but then mysteriously get 0-0 draws when GK has a blinder.

    They both have had senior players throwing major strops.

    Uruguay - Man City = Both are very easy to dislike

    Nah we're Belgium. Starting to build a decent team after a few years in the wilderness, but still a way to go.

    Just because Arsenal have French players? Newcastle have a lot too. Also, Ghana now seem to have players throwing major strops. I do though like the whiny-twat-manager connection. We'll go with that.

    Portugal = Wet Sham. Poor quality squad that try to survive games whilst pinning their hopes on their star striker

    Liverpool - Uruguay

    Suarez plays for them both and the team's players/staff/fans cover for their players even though they're in the wrong.

    Spot on. Both teams play in a very similar style. Chile are absolutely the team that fits Saints.

    Saints were Brazil like in the Championship, but when Poch arrived, they pressed, closed down and got the ball back asap. Un-Brazil like. Brazil will let you keep the ball providing you don't do anything too dangerous with it. Just like Saints in the Championship.
