I was just checking round the Charlton news and ITTV reported that he was taken ill and hospitalised in France. Scrolling down, Sadie Jane then said he'd subsequently suffered a heart attack. I don't know the guy oersonally, but I'd wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully a return to health as soon as possible. Awfull news but here's hoping for a happy ending.
Hopefully he can pull through! If not, he's had a good innings. I believe he is in his mid nineties. Possibly the oldest living Charlton fan? A war veteran and he done a number on reams - what's not to like?
Had a butch - the person who uses it to mention not being a fan of DP is horribly disrespectful and vile. Pissed me off that has. A chance to wish someone a speedy recovery and they make it about them? Idiot.
This is the latest that I have on Doug ( Inkblot). I'm very sorry to say there has been a pretty big set back in his recovery, they tried to get him to walk last night and he had a heart attack. There has been panic stations and he is now on oxygen and they are upping his medication, they say his heart is tired. I will of course keep you posted. It has been great that members of ITTV and this forum have wished Doug well. I will keep you updated on any further developments.
I have had my run ins with Doug over the years, but wish him a speedy return to full health. Typical of classless Reams to use the thread on ITTV to have a dig at @DickPlumb Dick - have you ever thought of coming off ITTV?
I have come off it so many times, but I am sticking around. I like posting on there, especially now they have so many club apologists. I like putting up an alternative view. I don't know why Reams and Nigel don't like me I am a pussy cat.
More information about Doug from Sadie. Medically not out of the woods but they do seem to be on top of the problem, his heart rate needs to be stabilised, he couldn't breathe properly and kept passing out because his heart rate was too slow and lungs weren't being pumped enough blood oxygen, then was given medication to speed up heart rate, his heart was then beating too fast and caused a heart attack, it's a matter of getting the right dosage of medication, the medication is causing him severe headaches though. On a brighter note, he has been told of all of your kind comments and well wishes and thanks you all.
More information from Sadie about Doug, not such good moves. I'm afraid after a positive post yesterday I have bad news today. The specialist have said his heart is worn out and there is nothing more they can do for him, he will continue taking tablets which are just keeping him alive as long as possible, when they get the dose right they will let him go home, time wise they say he could live a month he he could live a year it's difficult to say. He is having more tests today to see how much damage there is at present but the overall prognosis isn't good. he continues to thank everyone for their well wishes. And requests that no one pities him or treats him as an invalid.
Shame. Like I said yesterday he has had a good innings. Hopefully things at CAFC improve before he goes.
He has had a good innings. If it is any consolation to Doug, Reams no longer blames him for nicking ITTV's 1.500 members. He blames you instead.
Echo that sentiment. All the best to him. With whatever happens now, I only hope he's comfortable and doesn't struggle.
Just to echo the sentiments on here, but Dick, Doug said he didn't want to be treated like an invalid. Best in that case to carty on as normal, which means Royston taking the mick out of you Reams and Inkblot. Not the best of times, but I reckon Doug would have liked Roystons response. Lets hope he makes it home soon, and the Belgians are history when he gets there.
