Think Barton is bringing in his mates, don't think he gives a damn about the Rovers, let alone getting us back into league 1
Until we actually put a run of wins and decent performances together (remember those?) - not just the odd win followed by losses/draws etc - then I will not believe we've turned any kind of corner. It's been approaching 22 months since we last put a decent run together - not good enough. It worries me that Barton talks about the team not gelling until later in the autumn etc. Many other L2 teams have had large player turnover, yet they started well enough. Look at Swindon - 6 weeks ago they only had 10 players, no pre-season, Garner at the helm and were a club in crisis. Now they're 4th, have won 3 and only lost 1 game. Enough excuses - we're supposed to be promotion candidates, bloody well get on with it.
When Garner took the Swindon job, there were just 7 first team players at the squad. No pre season friendlies. Less than 2 weeks for the first game of the season. He somehow built a squad, got them fit and got them gelling to hit the ground running. Yet somehow we have to wait until xmas before we see things coming together and we will still get promoted apparently.
JBs comments remind me of a Roy Orbison song "In Dreams" the only difference is the Roy Orbison song is a really nice song JBs comments remind me of an old TV programme " Pie in the Sky. League 2 or National league next season my money with JB in charge is National League and with no DC to get us back up first time
It's a marathon, not a sprint and we've already drawn level with Mansfield and Exeter. We would struggle to beat Harrogate or Forest Green at the moment, but I don't think we're too far off to be honest.
Rovers have space for 1 more over 21player in the squad after the departure of Josh Barrett according to the WDP
Kevin Meher has joined Southend as Head coach. Thanks for all you have done for the Rovers Kevin and I wish you every success in your future career
