Now as stupid as this title may sound, if you look at England's top 6:

    Strauss
    Cook
    Trott
    Pietersen
    Bell
    Morgan

Now I'm assuming Morgan will be used as Colly's replacement here, but after the Ashes tour Bell and Cook showed some serious world-classiness. Pietersen has always been great, Trott IMO is England's best batsman and Morgan is also world class. So by my logic this makes Strauss the worst specialist batsman in the test side. Although this is a good thing because it shows just how good England's batting is!

Not quite sure on this, especially with Morgan so far not having played many games and necessarily showed any consistency to his game, KP has got no consistency at all over these past years. Cook before this last tour was going to be dropped, however amazing he was in the latest tour, it doesn't shoot him to be the best batsmen in the world. The thing i think about our batting is now that it is a team line up in the sense they all compliment each other and will work well together, and that goes on the though that they are all equal .

If you mean 5 day test match cricket, no. Morgan, assuming he is to replace Collingwood, is not world class. How can he be in this format? He may be some day. Who knows? But he is most definitely not world class.

Pointless question. Openers do a totally different job and face fresh hostile bowlers with the new ball. Often No 3 has to do the same job but if there was a good initial stand, is expected to be the more aggressive. Numbers 4 & 5 can often build big innings due to tired bowlers and 'soft' ball. Number 6 may have to be more careful if total so far not good, and become an anchor with the lower order coming in. So, each position requires different skills.
