Not for me. I wouldn't consider Hartlepool, Darlo, Berwick a Derby? So why then do the press keep saying Boro is? I honestly didn't know Mowbray was their manager. I can't name one of their players, unless Arca is still with them (is he?). They are in effect irrelevant. Although the fact TM is there does give it a bit more spice. Interested to know if Newcastle consider them to be a Derby also.
no it could well be next season cant see it happening personally if boro come up be more local action for us both
no never have and never will consider it a derby if there was any boro fans on here we could ask them but as there isn't who knows what they think or who do they see as their local derby is it darlo/monkey hangers or someone else????????
Nope, not a derby for me. They're just that funny little club down the road that we can all share a laugh at.
I don't consider it a derby truth be told, the only one being against yourselves. But it's still a cracking tie and the proximity still adds a bit of spice. Boro Gully always considered them derbies. Their derbies are Hartlepool and Darlo in my opinion.
It might not be a derby but it's a cracking tie, Sunlun fans are as excited as the smogs are judging by the patter that has been flying around since yesterday. Anyone that has been to either fixture in recent years will testify as to what it brings to the atmosphere as it has been at boiling point the ones i've been at. A couple of the last ones at the SOL have been rocking, particularly 08 (the year they went down?) and i'd sooner play these then a blackburn or wigan or some ****e.
It's not 'the derby' but I think we're lying if we're saying its just like playing Wigan or someone, the noise of the crowd at both grounds (they actually sell some tickets when we're in town) is evidence of that. It's like how Birmingham v Villa is the midlands derby, but both teams still have a bit more bite against the likes of Wolves and West Brom. During the draw they also described Spurs v Watford as a derby despite them not being traditional rival clubs. Of course its a bit more important to Boro since they've not got anyone nearby for a proper rivalry.
You are not serious, surely? This is a mock chant that both clubs use to taunt Boro. Just for the record, factually speaking, Cleveland was abolished in 1996, so it´s impossible for anything to be there. If we are being factually correct ´Middlesbrough is a large town situated on the south bank of the River Tees in north east England, that sits within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. The local authority is Middlesbrough Borough Council. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, in 1968 the town became the centre of the County Borough of Teesside, which was absorbed by the non-metropolitan county of Cleveland in 1974. In 1996 Cleveland was abolished, and Middlesbrough became a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire.´ So, technically, it is indeed a small town in Yorkshire...
