I reckon this transfer puts the Bowen transfer to bed now. His value has just gone up to closer to £30m.
I'm fairly certain that Bowen will go .. but I suspect it will be summer rather then during this transfer window. It's definitely not helping the lad, all the uncertainty, as his form has dipped over the last few weeks. Not sure if it's the same with Grosicki as he ain't been I interested for the last month .. or certainly appears that way on the pitch. If they are fit and selected .. I suspect different performances from them against Chelsea .. a chance to ignite the interest of the bigger clubs.
I suspect Turbo's drop in form has had an effect on Bowen's productivity. Teams are very much doubling up on Bowen these days - which usually leaves space for Turbo to do damage when he's on song.
Also all season we have been so heavily dependent on Grosicki and Bowen to provide assists and goals. I think both of them have delivered, but it remains a strain when you are relying continuously on the same two players all the time.
Yep - there's no creative No 10 to offer any other threat. Irvine isn't that man; nor is Honeyman. And Toral is always injured. Where's RoKo when you need him! Fingers crossed for Samuelsen.
Ironically, that's what MH was before he joined us. He could pick a pass and weigh in with the goals. We tried to change him as we had limited options and then froze him out while still paying big money. Smart. Having said that, I like the look of (most of) the signings we've been bringing in. Bowen will of course go. Then maybe it will be a season or two more before we see the fruit ..... if we can hang on to and keep adding to the new talent pipeline (ideally with one or two missing older wise heads added too).
Well that would be really stupid of them - he's been banging in goals and assists for the past two seasons. No serious suitors are going to judge him on one game.
Yeah I agree. He’ll stay this window and leave in the summer. That way he’ll get a full preseason under the belt at a club that will certainly be playing Premier League football next season.
We’re paying him £20k a week to sit on his arse in Norway, if he’d failed a drug test, he’d have been sacked within seconds. We triggered another year just to get a fee for him and it failed, so he was frozen out, it’s no more complicated than that.
Depends.... as a considerate employer city would have to support him with rehab & time away. (I’m not saying I’m right on this!)
I think its simple. McGrant didn't fancy him as captain and Henrickson spat his dummy out when he was told. He also allegedly refused to join another club who wanted him at the start of the season.
i think your forgetting about Grant McCann stating he declined to play for us either pre season or first game (during the speculation surrounding his future here and potential clubs coming in for him) , since then i suspect McCann has said stuff him, didnt like his attitude and he has had a big part in freezing him out. True The Allams gambled because of greed, and it failed, but the fact he is being frozen out i suspect has more to do with McCann`s opinion of him then the Allams.
The point I was attempting to make is its a match against supposed prem league opposition and towards the end of the window so one final look before decisions are made. Lots of teams no doubt would like Jarrod the problem thus far being the fee involved 'inhibiting' a move
