But he’s smiling loads. Maybe we’ve signed him as a good influence in the dressing room or for morale.
McCarthy is back frrom Injury now too! So i don't really understand why we have signed Willy for the rest of the season!?
In case the same thing happens again? Not impossible with the very infectious covid strain. The scenario revealed that we really didn’t rate our 3rd choice when the chips were down I mean maybe we would be forced to play if our first two goalies have covid but no one else did ? Because you just need one. And we don’t want that being Lewis - clearly
All though i do agree with the sentiment that Lewis isn't up the the standard even as a 3rd choice GK.. It just seems overkill tbh! It's a good problem to have i guess.
Or keeping him as third since Lewis will be leaving and the other one is at the level of Dorchester …
Hopefully Ralph hasn’t damaged him and his career through overplaying. It was simply not necessary to play him the number of games that he did I don’t know anything about knee meniscus injuries and what causes them though so it could just be unfortunate. It does sound like a wear and tear injury though? Does anyone know ?
Ralph Hasenhuttl says that Southampton, under their new owners Sport Republic, will assess the severity of Tino Livramento's knee injury before making a decision over whether they will look to replace him during the January transfer window. The 19-year-old right-back has been struck down by a meniscus (knee) injury that may prove to require surgery. Hasenhuttl has vowed to push for answers from Southampton's club doctor ahead of Monday's pre-Brentford press conference, when the Austrian coach will speak to the media once again. With Kyle Walker-Peters and Yan Valery both set to be suspended for Tuesday night's meeting with the Bees, Hasenhuttl will be without a senior right-back.
Next week we will finally announce the signing of Williams on loan from United. Him and Ralph tearfully embrace at the press conference. “It was you. It was always you.” It’s all that they can manage, through misty eyes and breathless excitement as The Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice swells in the background. “Can’t take my eyes off of you…”
I cannot but wonder what the situation would be if Tino had been rotated with KWP, especially as we had a solid left back sitting on the bench. I am not the only one on here who thought he was being overplayed weeks ago. Ralph needs to do better by the youngsters in the future if this policy of sweeping up talent like Tino is to work in the future.
It is one of those things where people definitely cannot say “in hindsight” Tino playing regularly seemed to be part of the strategy to show other targets that they would We just have to hope : - there is no lasting damage to him - prospective young targets don’t view it actually as a negative. On the latter I don’t think they would as most players want to play as often as they can to improve and this could just be bad luck. Any that wouldn’t would be the players who don’t really like football but happen to be very good at it. The fewer of those we have the better
