So apparently Gray is at Thorpe Arch having a medical. A big offer has been made for Bowen, Hull have 24 hours to come back with an answer, otherwise we move on.
So let's say we sign a striker. Then he doesn't score. Whose fault is it then? Can't blame Bamford if he's been replaced. Genuine question. (I still believe we have a team-scoring problem of which the Bamford-scoring is only a part, but everyone seems to be assuming a striker will cure all ills.).
I think a lot would like to see Bamford as a number 10,a new striker might not cure the problem, but has a better chance than doing nothing, and what if Bamford gets injured,a ban, tired or a bad game.
Completely agree with this. Costa hasn't done nearly enough, he looks quite lively running with the ball but that is about it. I keep seeing people saying how good Harrison, I have been so disappointed in him this season. He has come up with a few assists but the majority of these have been lay-offs (to Alioski and Roberts from what I remember) the number of times he loses the ball or his attempted cross is blocked is so frustrating. I have said this before, look at the top teams in the prem, or any league for that matter and the whole team contributes not just their striker. In fact, watching Liverpool the other day, the commentator said Firmino is yet to score a goal at Anfield this season! So having a striker to score goals clearly is not an issue for them. If we get Bowen and Gray we go up, just do it ffs
We need a striker because we only have one striker. If we are getting a striker, we may as well try and improve the first XI as Bamford is back to missing chances again. If the new striker can't score, at least we can change it and put fresh legs on. At the moment we can't do that. That's why we are desperate for a striker. I'd like more than one to be honest if Edmonson is to be completely ignored. I agree regards other players helping out with their goal tally. I thought Costa would get close to 10 this season and Harrison needs to start converting chances that drop to him in the 6 yard box. The absence of Forshaw or Shakleton seems to have nullified Klich's ability to get on the score sheet and Pablo has been in and out with injuries. We have no natural finishers in the team.
Well aware that we need a backup striker, and like you say, better if it's 2. However, it's not the point I'm trying to make. Social media sites everywhere are decrying Bamford. It's all his fault that we're not scoring & losing games. But what if it's not Bamford's fault & the new striker doesn't score fruitfully either? Means we've still got the same problem. But what is it? You see, one of my disciplines when I worked was root cause analysis. It's second nature for me to look beyond sticking plaster fixes & look towards resolving the underlying problem, so it doesn't happen again. But I can't work it out, so my request is genuine, 'cos I haven't got a bloody clue what it is! Same coach, same system, same players. So what is it that's affecting the whole kit & caboodle at the same time? And what can we do to resolve it? I don't think even 5 strikers is the answer.
We've announced the signing of Elia Caprile an 18 year old goalkeeper. Reckon this club is just one big wind up?
Yes but think about it Kiko is found guilty and given 15 game ban Radz says your fault we are not paying you you better F off win win
We're on the same page. I still believe we are essentially a mid table side with a heck of a manager and a heck of a system. My thought process is that we lack quality. A Burnley fan asked me which Leeds players would play every game for Burnley. I struggled after Phillips. ...... We seriously lack quality. It's a minor miracle we are anywhere near promotion.
