Gutierrez is one of those players who blows hot and cold. Occasionally he has a good day, but those have been fewer and farther between of late. My nephews are ardent Newcastle supporters and they usually big up their players, but not Gutierrez. I'd say no to that one as well.
Very injury prone, and it would very much depend on the style of player they want to bring in. I'd imagine his wages are quite high as well, so it would be a no from me.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2534281/Norwich-eye-Heitinga-Everton-defender-snubbed-West-Ham-switch.html#ixzz2pZ6FdKgL If we're in for a centre back turner's injury is either really bad or hughton doesn't rate ryan bennett.
Or more likely billy he would like a rock at the back as all except turner have been too shakey Buttner is a random one though
To be honest we looked shaky at times at the back on Saturday with Rusty and Bennett there - if Anthea is out for a while our options are Bassong and Bennett with Rusty as back-up so we do need some more strength in the CB positions imo.
Poorly worded there, but I think it means Roma are also interested in Buttner. Heitinga will want to much money I reckon.
Yeah, I don't think we're in for Buttner, it's Roma et al. Don't know why we'd want him, we've already got two left backs so it isn't a priority area. On Heitinga, I think he's keen to get regular first team football to try and make the world cup squad, he might take a hit on wages I suppose. I do think we need a CB if Turner is out for a long period, and if Heitinga can have the same effect as an on-form Bassong in making whoever's alongside him play better, that'd be perfect.
Isn't he out of contract in the summer? Can't see Everton loaning him out rather than trying to get some kind of transfer fee.
i believe heitinga play in midfield as well? would be handy. like DH says, it might not be all about money - he's what 30 and wants to play in a world cup year. we could offer that. RvW and Fer could play the nationality card too.
Think he's played in a defensive midfield role a few times over the years. Might be handy with Tettey injured - could be harsh on Johnson though as his form seems to be beginning to pick up now.
We could have a spine of our side made of Dutch Internationals! I think he can step into a defensive midfield role, yes, in fact apparently he played there at the weekend when Everton demolished QPR, if only for 8 minutes. Doesn't appear to have done it regularly though looking back through his previous seasons performance data on transfermarkt.
West Ham reckon they're close to signing a striker, and are working on signing a defender too. BBC now reporting that might be the Wolves CB Roger Johnson, who has spent most of this season on loan with Sheffield Wednesday at the bottom of the championship.
That was who I was expecting, yeah. Typical West Ham striker really (well, apart from the fact he's young, and looks pretty decent).
The internet suggests this has now happened, and Cardiff have completed the signing of Magnus Wolff Eikrem according to Norwegian press.
Not particularly transfer related, but Gold and Sullivan have written an open letter to Hammers fans after yesterday's no-show at Florist http://www.whufc.com/articles/20140106/a-message-from-the-joint-chairmen_2236884_3606357
