yeah Toon are interested, that might be guess work if he doesn't want a relegation scrap with the hammers.

Anyone else think it's odd how we don't seem to hang around in the summer for signings, I think all of ours were done and dusted before August, but always seem to leave it fairly late in January? That's not to say I expect anyone through the door this week, but just an observation.

will we also see any outs this window? who are the contenders....

David Fox - loan at barnsley was not successful, maybe due to bad form. can't imagine many suitors in the championship. maybe a loan to a league one team?

Daniel Ayala - on loan at boro until 25 Jan. permanent move to Boro? has done well there from what i have read. Not in CH's plans at present.

luciano becchio - made a couple of sub appearances so far this season, not really been given the chance. a few championship sides are reportedly interested in him, but will CH let him go on loan?

Surman is on loan to Bournemouth until the end of the season

I think deals are harder to do in january, clubs don't really want to loose good players so look to get the best deal possible and want replacements, its not really i time for building a squad as it is for bringing in players for weak areas that have been shown up in the first half of the season. Players like Heitinga who has been allowed to leave will move pretty quickly the rest will take a while.

Fair point, I think Ledley will be another that moves reasonably quickly, as will Samaras. I'd like to think we're in for Ledley, I could see a 3 man midfield including him, Fer, and a more attack-minded, creative midfielder working really well.

This site doesn't appear to have any substance to it, but there's a few names to throw into the melting pot for discussion at least...

    Mikael Boman (Striker, Halmsted)
    Georginio Wijnaldum (PSV, playmaker)
Danny Ings (Striker, Burnley - player+cash swap with Becchio)
    Erik Lamela (Forward, Spurs)
    Kenneth Omeruo (RB, Chelsea)
Nicolas Bandi (forward, Boco Juniors, £8m)
    Florentin Pogba (LB ,St Etienne)
    Alexandre Lacazette (Striker/Winger, Lyon)

Wijnaldum and Lacazette would both be fantastic, but I'm fairly sure they will be out of our range.

Did some digging, Besiktas are apparently in the running for him, PSV have put him on the 'get rid' list. Raiola is his agent is usually filling his pockets with money, which he can in Turkey. No other clubs have thus far been linkedi with Toivonen in recent weeks.

And the guy is a massive @#$%.

Wijnaldum hasn't played in the last three months due to injury.

Raiola or Toivonen? And if Toivonen, do you mean that he's a massive ego who won't work, sulks, etc, or someone more in the Robbie Savage mould of being a fairly hard working professional, but hated on the pitch by the opposition and their fans?

Over the summer persuading PSV wasn't the issue. It was whatever our terms were, probably money. Doubt we'd be hurrying back after being turned down by the player. Hooper and Snoddy were different, they both clearly wanted the move but were blocked by their clubs. I recon we've moved on from this one and the connections are just lazy journalism.

Can you give examples of the type of player you mean? All the ones I come up with are box to box playmakers so I'm confused
