The home-grown striker, 23, is the current Premier League Golden Boot holder after scoring 25 goals in the top flight last season - a Club record haul for one player in an individual Premier League campaign - and was one of four Spurs players named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for 2015-16.
After rising through our academy, Harry made his first team debut against Hearts in the Europa League in August, 2011 and he has since gone on to score 70 goals in 137 appearances in our colours.
Born locally in Walthamstow, Harry has also established himself as a senior England international over the last two years, memorably scoring just 79 seconds into his Three Lions debut against Lithuania at Wembley in March, 2015. Harry represented England at Euro 2016 and currently has 17 caps and five goals to his name.

    Great news!

Was my birthday yesterday so that's a good present.

To top it off, my mate's girlfriend was at a function last night, Aquascutum were there along with some of our players, she grabbed Sonny aside and got him to do me a happy birthday video message. Safe to say that despite turning 27, I reacted like a little kid at the message <laugh>.

I expect a 'Kane forced to sign new contract under Pochettino
"Vulcan nerve pinch" duress' article to appear in "Hack watch" any day now.

The problem with signing overpaid bilge like Sissoko (rumoured to be our highest earner on £90,000 per week) is that it gets other players looking at their own contracts and thinking 'surely I deserve more?'

The fact that some are claiming it has a £65m buyout clause. Do they think our Chairman is an amateur?

I wonder if that's why a bunch of our players have signed new deals over the past couple months, perhaps the club knew that if Sissoko was going to be earning that sort of dough then it's only right that the likes of Dier, Alli and co get parity.

That story was bollocks for two reasons:
i.) According to this year's FM he is earning £80k p/w
ii.) Even at £80k p/w he was never our highest-paid player: Alderweireld and Lamela are also on £80k, Son is on £85k and Lloris is on £95k

Either way, it merely serves to add to the tragicomic epic that was the Sissoko transfer. Most Toons I know assure me that he was on no more than £40-45k at Newcastle. The player refused to even answer the phone to Koeman, which left us the only interested party, despite the lateness of the hour. He shouldn't have been offered a penny more than £60k and the fact that we almost doubled his previous wages suggests that we were desperate to sign him, which is in turn a thought that makes me nauseous.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think people realise just how damaging this specific transfer will prove to be to our club when all of its ramifications are taken into account. Poch took massive strides in his first few season to uproot the culture of sloth that had our club in its grips, full of overpaid, under-performing journeymen like Paulinho and Adebayor. He worked tirelessly to replace that set up with a strict meritocracy where rewards were reserved for effort, not name or price tag. The Sissoko signing pulled the rug out from underneath that in so many ways.

I don't think that's really Kane's style. Seems to work his arse off, both on and off the pitch.
He's not the most talented player in the world, but his application's second to none.
The Taarabts and Balotellis could learn a lot from this.

You worry too much CK. MP has already made it public knowledge that Sissoko has to work harder, he is clearly not going to allow him to mess with his player ethic. It is also tantamount to MP admitting that perhaps a mistake was made in this signing. In the hotbed that is pro football mistakes are always going to be made, what matters is how you react to those mistakes. So far IMO MP hasn't put a foot wrong.
