About time too. The implication is that Roland has given up on the Aussies, same as the rest of us have with one exception. Or is that two?
the first thing i thought was who made the decision and did the aussies agree with it? or were they even consulted. this is great news in terms of who our manager is, but could actually hint at something disastrous - RD is here to stay.
Certainly happy for Bowyer, under better circumstances he would have been appointed sooner. Mind you, I believe it's not a long contract so maybe still hope RD will ship out soon.
Roland didn't have much choice, although it's always a pleasant surprise when he does something logical. It could be that he wants to send a message to the Aussies that he's not moving until they meet his terms. If it means that he really intends to stay he will appoint a permanent CEO and Financial Officer.
i'd say we've been doing a lot better since KM left. there's hardly as much embarrassment about the club. can you imagine how the other clubs felt seeing her rock up with them knashers insisting everyone's racist, and coming out with crap, just because she works for RD. if he's learned anything at all and is staying, he'll let popular demand fill the vacancies.
Angeldust has suggested that the permanent appointment of Lee Bowyer might have something to do with the EFL looking into the way CAFC is being run at the moment. If so, then something the EFL are doing has actually had a positive effect (albeit indirectly). Wonders will never cease.
No. They are having a meeting amongst themselves today so I hear, and Charlton is on the agenda. Some time soon they will want to have a chat with RD or one of his minions, and a bit of a chin-wag with somebody from CASTrust. Or something like that. Roland must be shaking in his boots. They've got him cornered now...
I suppose the fact that Bowyer only has a year shows that Roland is not thinking long-term. Although trying to read his mind is fruitless tbh.
Love Bowyer, what I’ve seen so far he’s my favourite Charlton manager since curbs. Has a free hit this year with sh!t owner/squad and no expectations from fans
Sincerely, it's difficult to see what the EFL can do. They take RD to task about almost anything and he can point to stuff he's done, from drainage to new seats to paying the bills to installing British managers. The reality is never quite so simple but after all this time, I really don't see much coming from the EFL. But if it's another move that pushes RD into dropping his price and scurrying back to whence he came, it's welcome.
I feel sorry for (Lee Lee Lee)Bowyer. There cannot be many managers that have been given a shorter permanent contract than they have spent interim.
