A lot of what Clarke says is correct but a pointless argument. He’s comparing what was football in his day to some form of football manager now played by a bunch of hairdressers
Exactly my thoughts, depends on what era of rules the game is played in. Back in sniffer’s day we’d probably bury them. In the current day they’d probably win unless the game was abandoned because we’d have too many red carded
It's same as trying to compare tennis, rugby or goldf to 50 years ago. Pointless due to technology and money changing all sports. Imagine what Billy Bremner would think of being told to wear a bra so the coaches and sky could analyse how far he runs in a game. He'd simply tell them where to stick that nonsense. But without such gadgetry Aski would be out of a job
As for heavyweight boxing it’s definitely worse now than 50 years ago. Any of the great heavyweight champions of the world of that era would knock the living daylights out of Tyson Fury.
I wish to God someone WOULD come and knock the k******s head off him and when they've done that, knock McGregors off next
I'd still find a way Eire although I will admit the interweb has made it so much easier than having to rely upon either 1) my failing memory or 2) the copious amounts of notebooks that I have stored in the attic, that I keep meaning to transfer to computer but have yet to be arsed to do so
Still find myself wanting Fury to win, partly because he is a Brit and then I want to see him knock AJ out. Fury is actually looking very lean, he has trained hard for this, he’ll land some big body blows before knocking Usyk out before round 7. His dad is a disgrace though and full of attention seeking nonsense, he should be banned. I think modern day football with sports science, nutrition and fitness has moved on leaps and bounds. A foul is a foul and you can’t get away from it, I think the Leeds team of the 70s would get pretty much stuffed if played today. Transport the City team back to the 70s and it would be different
I take it you've seen the clip of him headbutting that young fella mate, what an absolute knobhead he is
You were right , although I like fury he is my favorite boxer , but I think he looked over the hill now , I will have to look for another favorite boxer now , can't see fury doing many more boxing matches
Better get up there and get those notebooks before you forget about them ha ha LOL (Funny story anyway)
True today's players are athletes never had that in the day apart from a few players , Gaza would struggle without a newcastle brown ale in his hand LOL
