What a crowd they are some fans mind the whole ground is white flags and the noise was unreal. -impressive That marching on together has to be the best football so out there.
The impressive type of powerful football on show at Elland Rd tonight and Norwich never showed up at all. When I watch these kinds of matches I often wonder whether we will ever have a season ending, or even part season, that could ever match the ferocity of their attack minded thinking? On the other hand when I see the successful teams, with the possible omission of Ipswich Town, I ask myself how much influence did the parachute cord help them to build in a better way than anything likely to ever come our way? It can't just be karma that got those recently relegated teams back into contention at the seeming drop of a hat, but when you get a so visible leg-up on the vast majority of your new competitors it makes a mockery of the supposed intent of a level playing field for everybody - isn't it?
Leeds on the showing 4-0 winners will be a formidable test for Southampton at Wembley- I believe they will beat WBA tonight at St Marys I just think the Saints will have too much on the day.
It’s more about who handles the pressure on the day. As we all know in this league anyone can beat anyone on their day.
True i remember being at Wembley for the Hull playoff final we were big favorites to win -yet we did not turn up.
We were unlucky on the day and Hull were lucky. We lost McCoombe to illness on the day of the game - and then Orr got smacked in the face so badly it fractured his skull. Happened right in front of me - it was horrible. If that wasn’t enough, Windass scores a worldly - a strike that 99 times out of 100 would have hit row Z. It was a perfect storm for us on the day. Having said that, the damage was done earlier that season when we lost to Stoke. We should have gone up automatically but fizzled out (sounds familiar..!!) I blame LJ…….
Like Rosenior at Hull, I’m guessing he was given his target for the season just gone (probably promotion ?) and was told what the board expected of him, and he has failed to deliver.
