I'm not entirely sure anyone is all over any of the match day threads... not in the last year or so anyway.
He's played in Italy and in Spain, he's also said that he's really happy to be playing in the Premier League. I suppose somebody like Chelsea could come in with a mega offer, but I don't think we'd sell to them anyway.
We won't have a choice in 18 months and it won't be about selling, it will be case of tearfully seeing him sign a contract with whoever he wants. Reports in Chile suggesting he'll only sign if Wenger quits (!)... no quotes so probably completely horses**t. Still I'd be more than happy with that, though I'm sure a few on here wouldn't. Interesting question to some on here though.... Wenger or Sanchez?
That quote sounds dodgy as he signed up for Wengers team. I would be surprised if he doesn't sign for Arsenal. He seems happy and we appear to be making improvements. I can only see money as anew obstacle here.
Agreed. Sounds like bullshit to me, why would he have signed for Wenger if he wants him out ? When it comes to the money, realistically we are going to have to offer him something on a level that the Chavs and City are paying their top players. So we're looking at breaking the £200k mark I think.
Sadly it'll have to be a huge sum ofor money. I guess we were prepared for that with the new stadium. Ozil will be next on the list with a huge bumper contract. Signing up both would show big intent.
It's a sign of the times. As illustrated in this thread, Chelsea opened the floodgates to mega wages in the UK, so there's no going back. If we realistically want to keep Sanchez and Ozil at Arsenal then we are going to have to offer them both £200k + wages.
Haha I like the way you bring Chelsea back into the discussion. But seriously sadly it is the sign of the times.
Interesting that Pep was saying in his pre match interview that he always thought Alexis's best position was down the middle. It was just the form of Messi that kept Alexis out wide at Barca.
Just like it ended up keeping out Samuel Eto'o,Thierry Henry,Ibrahimovic and David Villa,so no surprises there. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Ozil has said that specifically now, so I suppose the question you pose could well be valid (and not horses**t ). So, Sanchez, Ozil, and Wenger, for a new manager, Yes or No?
That seems to sort of suggest Ozil will only sign if Wenger stays. Or at least says he's mainly only there because of Wenger. If that's the case then get rid... not interested in players who only have allegiance to a man rather than the team. My old quote suggested Sanchez would only sign if Wenger LEFT so sort of the opposite to Ozil. Ozil, Wenger and Sanchez leaving on a free.... or Sanchez, new manager and Ozil leaving on a free? Not even a close thing in my opinion.
Well - I'm kinda winding you up, but it it was a straight choice Sanchez or Ozil, Id pick Ozil to stay. Not by a lot, but I think he is the better choice and I'll explain why, but I expect you will not agree. I see attacking in football as a three stage process. 1. Create an opening. 2. Exploit an opening, create an assist. 3. Finish. If you rate players as ABC at each, Sanchez is CAA, Ozil is AAC. Sanchez is terrible if he drops deep and has to start things off. Iwobi is the same CAB at best. The only players we have that can start things going and are above a C, are Ozil, Cazorla, Xhaka and Mustafi. That is why we struggle when lots of them are missing, we play the ball square and we never get past step 1. Ramsey, Walcott, Chamberlain, Perez, Giroud, really good once they get an opening, really good or OK at finishing, but they need someone to play that first pass. You can argue Sanchez is the better player, but right now we need him less than we do Ozil.
