not a cat in hells chance of turning this around we are at home and played decent in 2 games out of 23 brought the wrong bloke in after Parky, they let Embleton and Kimpy out on loan he leaves better players out of the team too many times. we need Sam back tomorrow. We should have signed that Stoke goalie on loan as well.
I was hopeful before tonight but expected this sort of performance. But for a small spell in the game and entire season I always felt we weren't a promotion side. It's a product of those that built it. We have to clear most of this lot out. We have the oldest squad in the league and this must be reversed. We need youth, hunger, pace and goals. It's a bitter pill to swallow but without a miracle it's l1 again next year. Over to kld and the football department he's assembling. It's, as always going to be a huge summer. I expect Neil younger embleton etc to form part of 11 never mind the squad. Need experienced keeper centre back midfielder and striker to build around with youth.
My team for Sat would be.... .................Burge............... Power..Younger..Wright...Onien ..............Leadbitter............ Gooch.....Scowen........Mcgeady. ...............Stewart...Wyke...... And if Macglaughlan is fit id leave Power on the bench. The majority of them are not fit enough to wear the shirt. We need a huge clearout for next seasons League 1 campaign.
Unless we score early Saturday will be irrelevant. Typical safc finding a way to ruin first game back in 15 months. He needs all out attack and a wild card like Hawkes to change game if we can get close to getting through late on. I expect more of the same though.... and we know where that'll likely end
What makes you say that? We need goals and Wyke needs support. Im assuming OBriens injured so who else can we have upfront with him?
Check the highlights of our first meeting with them down there. Diamond burst into the box, and was brought down for the penalty. He scored the third and ran them ragged all night. He runs at defenders but Johnson doesn't play him.
Wright was the worst of our two centre backs for me. Hasn't looked right all season. Hope McLaughlin is fit for the second leg, so we can move 09 into midfield.
Wyke is incapable of holding the ball up. Stewart did it more in the time he was on than Charlie has all season
I think we'll score 2 or more on Saturday. Their defence is poor when put under pressure, which is why Charlton and Posh both put 3 past them in one half. The problem is that I have no faith in us to keep a clean sheet, so it's likely we'll have to score 3 just to take it to pens.
I think we'll need to repeat that feat mate. They've got history of folding under pressure, so lets see how they handle going a goal down with the fans behind us. On the other hand, if they get the first goal, I think our 'players' will crumble.
So… this season… mclaughlin, Wright, Flanagan, Hume, O’Nien, Willis all out for significant periods and now Sanderson too. That’s 7 defenders. (6 plus O’Nien I suppose you could say) and, of course, Xjemajli too. 8 defenders or players you’d be happy playing there. Realistically finishing 4th is a miracle surely with that defensive injury list.
