After last seasons debacle I was extremely doubtful that Grant McCann would be successful at City, but, fair play to him, he's proved me wrong. Now lets see what he can do in the Championship. UTT
Barry Cooper ( HDM ) has given every player including the subs 10 out of 10, not sure about that , suppose he’s getting into the spirit or actually in the spirit lol...
Worked out this is the 9th time I've seen us promoted, first being in 65-66. And in many ways one of the most surprising. The last twice we have dropped into League One, we have ended up leaving it for League Two, and it's taken an age to get back into the Championship. So no belittling this achievement. Even in February after we lost to Ipswich I would have been happy to see Grant McCann replaced, but what he's achieved in the last few weeks has been exceptional and he's stayed very composed and translated it to the team. Really interested to see what he can do with this team in the Championship.
Still not sure about McCann as he presided over that unmitigated disaster last season. But fair's fair he's got us back to where he started so deserves immense credit for that and the chance to put things right in the Championship next season with backing from the Allams or, hopefully, new owners. But if there are new owners will he still be around? Can he step up as a manager? As I say he at least deserves the chance now, which I'm surprised at myself for saying but fair dues. Anyway ****ing well done City, the players, Grant and the staff. Great stuff getting out of a very difficult league, something others have found extremely hard to do. Now go win the league and round it all off. C'mon City!!!!
Listening to David Burns interviewing McCann. I hope he goes on to win the league. He has done well but I wish he would brush the chip off his shoulder. He is still referring to the bigger plan.
Our form since losing to Ipswich has been utterly sensational. They've managed to keep their heads when it really could have gone the other way, look at Doncaster. I'm very impressed. Well done City.
Skin full of beer and promotion so I’ll now sit down and eat my mother’s chicken casserole she gave me yesterday for tonight after the match. My other half isn’t hungry so I’ll have the lot, casserole dish full...could there be a better night ??? Possibly but that was a million years ago
Last time we were crowned Champions this was number one in the charts. In front of over 30,000 in Division 3. The following week it was this. Great Times, great music.
