Seeing as we can't fill an 18k ground at the moment 25k would be fine, besides tv money in the prem (if we ever get back there) makes gate receipts look like loose change........just an opinion obviously......
They could let the prisoners out on game days to watch the games. That should add a couple of thousand. And perhaps the could have a paddock for the hospital where patients could park beds and wheelchairs.
I don't see how you can compare filling Loftus Rd to a brand new stadium. Facts about football is that fans like to see a new stadium and you get extra ones. You would also get more fans with better facilities as I made a perfectly good case in a previous post. We need to shake off this negativity of how big our club is. Back in the 80's I was there with 28K against Spurs. I was also there when we had some pretty good gates. Football is bigger now and we don't need to be left behind.
Will our new ground look like this one if we move there? please log in to view this image If so then at least it will be packed at every game and rocking...
In 2008, the council put forward plans to re-open or build a new station at North Pole Road (formally Wormwood Scrubs & St Quintin Park Station). I don't know what happened to the idea but I haven't heard that the plans were ditched.
Not sure if this is just another regurgitated story. http://neighbournet.com/server/common/qprstadium001.htm
I think this area is where the old anti-aircraft emplacements were. We used to love cycling over there and playing in those concrete remainsas kids.
I tend to agree, also saves him giving us an update on the 'new' training facilities. Nothing to see here.
Think it's a good idea to look for an alternative to OOC. Would tend to indicate Tony is not just interested in property redevelopment unless this is already a post-Fernandes initiative
And will the corporate dining area be called the lunch box, where all the big knobs go? I'll get my coat
With the close proximity to the hospital, I would assume that suggests our ability to get alternative revenue streams (concerts, boxing etc.) will also be pie in the sky - unless our leaders were planning a retractable roof. There I go again, thinking practical solutions that will give a return on investment - won't be happening with our board!!
The London Borough of H&F published a report on the future options of the Linford Christie Stadium and site ... http://democracy.lbhf.gov.uk/documents/s104170/Consultation on Options Appendix 1.pdf
A quick scan through, and something needs to be done and surely if we put a plan together it would be looked upon variably. The place is currently not being used to its full potential and the suggested £7 million to regenerate it seems a bargain, and a bit ambitious. However, under possible investors they list the below, and we aren't mentioned; Community/University Demands Imperial College – multipurpose athletics, training and biomedical facility Thames Valley Harriers – ongoing clubhouse and athletics facilities Kensington Park Dragons – a main pitch, stand and facilities capable of meeting FA level 5 requirements Ongoing provision of five a side and 11 a side football pitches, grass and all weather, hockey, cricket and baseball facilities Facilities on the Scrubs for changing and refreshments (Page 13) Is this because we aren't being considered or because Tony and others are focusing on other plans? Interesting read though.
