The best thing that CCV can say about his performance this evening is that Fulham were only leading 3-2 when he got hooked on the hour

The worst thing you can say was how instrumental he was in Fulham's equaliser...

On the plus side, Onomah was instrumental in making Chris Coleman's debut one to forget:

Involved in the first, scored the second. Another deflection, though. Finished 2-1.

Marcus Edwards won't be making his Norwich debut this afternoon, as he's picked up a back injury.

Darren Anderton probably calls him "sicknote" at this point...

Some improved news on Marcus Edwards from Norwich manager, Daniel Farke...

“Our squad is not too big and at the moment without Tom Trbyull we have 21 outfield players available. So he [Edwards] is an option. In general, he has improved a lot, in terms of his attitude, but he can still grow up a bit more and also we have to work on strengthening his body to help his endurance and power.”

“The last two weeks he was able to do proper training with us. He is not far away, not an option for this next game (against Nottingham Forest), because it is a bit too early and he has to improve a bit in some topics. At the latest, after the next international break but he might be involved before then.

So, the back problem is improved. Let's hope the lad grabs hold of this opportunity and impresses. Good luck, son.

I thought when a player goes out on loan , the team he goes to want a more or less finished article that is available to them pretty much immediately. I understand they might not have been happy with his attitude which they may not have been fully aware of at the outset but also doing body strengthening work? It sounds like they are doing us a huge favour in his development.

Absolutely. Everything coming out of Norwich sounds like it came straight out of Spurs. Maybe, they do us a favour in getting into Edwards' head and we can do something for them next season with Edwards or another youngster? Could we delay payment on any Pritchard sell-on?

You'd think that there must be something immediate in it for them, as they're not getting much out of him this season in a positive sense.

It's true that they're not getting anything out of him on the pitch right now, but I think it's still useful for them.
He can act as an example to their youngsters, for a start, demonstrating clearly that attitude is as important as ability.
Their squad sounds very thin too, so even having an extra body for training could be very useful.

Norwich have had some very good academy sides in recent years.
Having a good relationship with them might lead to further opportunities for both clubs.
We were also linked with James Maddison in January and it looks unlikely that they'll keep him in the summer.

Steve Bruce has Villa on a fantastic run of form. Shame that Onomah spends most of his time as an unused sub these days.

What does the future hold for him I wonder?

Josh Onomah got himself back into the Villa side last night and I think he had a bit of a stormer, playing in his preferred deeper midfield position. I think that some have written hm off a bit too soon. Nobody can say that he will make it but I'm still hopeful. There's a lot of talent there...

    Amen, brother!

I've fought Josh's corner for ages. So, so talented when played in his preferred role. I watched about 70 mins of the game last night and he showed some great bits of play, did fall quiet on occasions but Leeds took control of the game during periods so it's understandable.

He's always been the better prospect out of the Winks, KWP, Georgiou, Harrison group but never had much of an opportunity to play in his preferred role in the first team.

Really hope Poch gives him a go at CM next season, don't think he'll be disappointed.

  18. Would agree with that assessment - he should be delighted with that performance.
Looks to have filled out (not in a DoF way lol) and looks stronger than last year. If that isthe level he is at consistently then there’s surely a squad place for him next season :emoticon-0148-yes:

Nice to see Carter-Vickers showing some respect for Ipswich:

Did the same when he left Sheffield United. It's a small gesture, but it's the least that anyone can do, isn't it?

Onomah's still out at Villa, of course, as they face Boro in the play-off semi on Saturday and Tuesday.
