On the subject of Sessegnon, here's a brief analysis of his game last night from an r/coys poster which led to him getting a barrage of racist abuse on Instagram Today he got his first start for Hoffenheim (in the bundesliga. he started in Europa I think) against Union Berlin today. He started out the game playing very wide on the left side. In possession he was a LM and in defense more of a LWB. In the first half he was hardly involved. He made one good play and had a bad play as well. After an injury to the starting RCB for Hoffenheim Skov came on to play LWB and Sessegnon moved to LCB. Then in the second half he started fairly quiet. Then Union Berlin got a break which led to Sessegnon trying to defend a 2v1 but he was unsuccessful and as the attacker was about to shoot Skov fouled him to concede a penalty and get sent off. Skov getting sent off meant Sessegnon moved into a LB role. From there he was still pretty quiet and looked timid. Then Hoffenheim leveled the game but that didn't last long. Sessegnon was caught in space and Max Kruse played a low cross that was easily turned in. From there Sessegnon tried to push up the field more to help claw a goal back but ultimately didn't really contribute much. Finally in the last few seconds Union Berlin got a breakaway after a poor control from Sessegnon and put the game to bed at 3-1. Overall Sessegnon looked timid, indecisive, and kinda slow. It was not a horrible performance, but it wasn't particularly good either. I would rate him a 4.5/10. If you have an specific questions about him today, I can try to answer them.
