WTF? https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/aug/20/jan-hoek-photography-sex-workers-south-africa Seriously, good luck mate, who knows who's next to be cut down by this terrible vir ...
Not really but next to you a peanut would be like Einstein. If you agreed with anything I said I’d self flagellate and book myself into a clinic.
He made the happy fish comment the other day. That fish are now happier because they’re British fish. Jesus wept.
There's a strange phenomenon that things politicians say are greeted with huge laughter ... ... if the same crack was made in your local people would shake their heads and groan. It's cringing when the most lame crack is greeted by people crying with laughter by the back benches.
I don't know what to make of this thread. JRM doesn't appear as he has no responsible role in the house, his job is to tell everyone the houses business for the week. Do I want to see the smug posh twat on TV, no thanks. You can piss and moan all you like about red or blue, who has shown up for TV, who hasn't. Did we do this well? Did we do that bad? It matters not one **** I've said this before and I stand by it, it doesn't matter which side of the fence you sit, we have done some things well and some things bad, I don't recall seeing a lot of threads back last may time moaning about the actions we took
I said, in March, we should stop air travel and prevent anything but repatriation into the UK. I said that allowing travel between infected countries, like Spain, Italy, France, etc, would increase the infection rate. I said events like Cheltenham, eating out discounts, football attendance, Christmas, etc, were a very poor idea. I also said that continually making promises about world beating this or all over by that promises were inappropriate. So did lots of other people.
I don't know who you mean by 'we', I only ever speak for myself so don't know who you're speaking on behalf of. If you check back to March you'll see I was saying those things. You said "I don't recall seeing a lot of threads back last may time moaning about the actions we took" so I simply mentioned I'd posted some. There's no need to take offence, I'm not saying I knew best, just posting an honest response. I'm not arguing, just responding.
I'm not saying I knew best mate, just that I did actually say it. I'm not trying to be clever or 'win' an argument .... ... just saying our borders, which we're closing now, would've been better closed before things became this bad. I'm not looking for an argument, just saying what I think.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I doubt anyone that posts on here 100% agrees with how we as a nation and government had handled this who thing
It wasn't hindsight though mate. I posted in March that I thought unlimited international air travel was dangerous and should stop. I've said that every month even though it would mean I'd be unable to visit family in th UK. That's absolutely destroying me mate ... ... but I'm not travelling because I've always thought it was the wrong thing to do. Human contact is the only way to transmit the virus and should be minimised ... ... shame, but it's better than dying.
I'd need permission from the French to travel, pay for a test which would need to be negative, spend time in isolation then see my grandkids. Mrs Smug would have to quarantine away from me then see her family independently. We may well be refused entry into France on our return. If we can get back there's currently a 6pm to 6am curfew so we'd have to time flights/ferries to coincide.
