Too much negativity on this board currently... I still think we'll scrape up.

If / when we do - who would you realistically try to sign in the much needed rebuilding?

A couple for starters - Will Hughes (comfortable on the ball, puts his foot in)

Tom Ince - decent season, pace out wide.

Tom Ince - Not good enough for the PL.

Will Hughes - Possibly but would cost a fortune since he is English.

We need PL proven players should we go up. No Championship players should be signed.

We also need to get rid of :-

Dummett, Darlow, Hanley, Lascelles, Colback, Diame. Not good enough for this league nevermind the PL.

Hughes is gonna have a lot of chasers, I'd be happy to get him, Ince no way - nowhere near Prem standard.

My main target would be Townsend, it's ridiculous that we made such a colossal balls up of re-signing him.

I'd take a chance on Hughes personally if available. Be good competition for Shelvey. Plus he could double up for the 10 role. Might be interesting one that.

I think there are better options than Ince. I like the lad Markovic at Hull on loan, or Traore from Middlesbrough.

I'd love to see them break the bank for Sigurdsson. I think he would excel here. Him and Yann M'Vila would be my top targets.

I'd definitely take Townsend back... I knew Ince would be controversial. I'd rather have him than Gouf or Atsu personally.

Looking across the championship there aren't many I'd take - which isn't great news given that's our most likely market for players with experience in England.

Not sure about Markovic, Traore is all pace and no end product. Sigurdsson I'd take -
    Good player.

Yann M'Vila would be an amazing signing. It would also send the Mackem's into a tizz!

Happy enough with Darlow, Dumment and Lascelles as back up / squad fillers. All young enough to improve. People forget young players, especially defenders, make mistakes.

The other three are not good enough (all), or too lazy (Diame).

Imagine my disappointment to find Benitez still in charge when I woke up this morning.

We need a defensive midfielder. He is a top quality one. Yes he comes with risks. He was caught drunk at training recently. His career has been littered with disciplinary problems. But as his time at the mackems showed, get him in a good place mentally, he is a quality footballer.

The problem is I could see him rocking up at Palace with Allardyce in the summer. Cash, Allardyce, London etc etc.

I like Dummett. I'd prefer an Ashley Cole type (in his prime) but don't see Dummett as a need to get rid of.
Keep Lascelles and Darlow but not expect them to be first choice

Here's one for you... Kieran Gibbs - 27, can't get a look in at arsenal and rumoured to be leaving, over 150 top flight games. Get him fit and he'd be a decent shout.
