I hope that from last season's match day threads there is at least some awareness among some posters of the existence of the Luke Amos Fan Club. As Life President of the LAFC, I thought I ought to create a virtual home for fellow club members to post. If any of you would like a formal position in the club, please just me know which vacancy below catches your fancy and I'll add your name. I'm also happy to create new vacancies if any of you have a particular job title you fancy. --- Life President - Quite Possibly Raving Director of Publicity and Charitable Events - Beth Chief Songwriter - Bwood Treasurer - Steels Head of Comms - Hammersmith Catering Director - Wherever Head of Objectivity - Col Director of Promotion & Art - SW Ranger Chief Pedant - Uber --- Now, some of you probably think the LAFC is tongue-in-cheek and my way of just having a bit of fun. You're 75% correct. I would, however, make two very brief semi-serious points. One is that we can very quickly pick a boo boy in any QPR squad and ascribe all our woes down to one player, becoming negative in no time at all. I thought it would be nice to do the opposite, and just pick a squad player and really root for them and cheer them on beyond what they perhaps deserve. It's a little way of saying that the more we get behind players, in this case Luke, and encourage them, the better. The second is that I do think Amos has done remarkably well to come back from two awful injuries. From what I've seen he has the potential to be a very good player at this level and he scored some key goals for us last year. Given a good run in the side, I think this could be a breakout season for Luke. So what better time to join LAFC? Come on you R's!
I'd like to nominate... Kiwi as chief cheerleader auditioner (Stacey already signed up for another year..) Uber as chief pedant Hammersmith as chief doom'n'gloom monger Os should definately be head of pessimism when it comes to the mighty Luke A I'll take the treasury role, as long as I can give out ludicrous contracts to nefarious pals running PPE (Pathetic Playing Equipment) scams.
Hang on a minute , it was me crying out for the Johansen/ Hendrick pivot to be broken up and Amos to be getting more gametime ! I ain't pessimistic, I just say when someone is utter turd or someone needs to go. Hendrick was and is utter turd, Johansen was turd for the majority of last season. Amos deserved more gametime and eventually got some. I'm fully behind Luke this season and hope he kicks on, just a tad fearful that he's a little brittle.
Sounds like you should be in charge of spinning against the competition in centre mid. You're now Head of Comms.
Consider yourself Treasurer. I like the suggestions but they have to stick their hands up themselves too.
I would like to join please Raving. As well as being a jolly good footballer, who gives 110%, scores important goals and has made remarkable recovery from two career ending injuries. He is a jolly nice chap....from his twitter account last year. Hi everyone! Nervous to post this, but I’ve been working on a project in my dads village in Nigeria to help provide more accessible clean water. If you could take 2 mins to head over to check it out https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-ayed...&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer Sounds a lovely family..
Can I be head of the "undecided" dept please? As with all our players this coming season, I wish Luke a great season. Clean slate for all from me.
If that’s the case that I become catering director, QPR may have guns in the boardroom, we won’t have that but definitely shots in the boardroom
Happy to take on Promotions and Art Direction Raving. We need to get Amos in some Psychadelic threads. Plenty of pictures with fans and kissing babies. We will target the youngsters so we can get him voted as fans player of the year by Christmas. I think we could get him on TOTP with a bit of Nigerian rapping (with Steelsy’s boy on percussions?) - a #1 hit would definitely get his fan base up. I’ll push Bealey to get him scoring too - always good for the football ‘rep’ side of things in between.
