Our opponents, Luton, have lost just 1 of their last 5...winning the other 4 games. It is worth noting, of those 5 games, the only opposition in the top 10 was Middlesbrough, and they lost that game 2-1. This run, alongside our poor form, has moved them 1 point and 1 place above us, into 6th on 57 points. Their top scorer is Elijah Adebayo with 14 goals, and they also have Harry Cornick who has scored 10. As for us...something needs to change. We've now won 1 of our last 5, losing 3 and drawing 1 of the other games. Maybe its coincidence, but I managed to make it over for the game we won (PM me for details of the 'Get Dave on a Eurostar for every home game fund') and we rode our luck a fair amount in that game too. Results need to start turning around or before we know it, we'll be well and truly mid-table and kissing our hopes of a playoff place goodbye. A run of a few wins and we'll (hopefully) be right back in the mix. Our top scorer is still Dykes, on 9 goals, with Chair (8) and Willock (7) slowly catching up. Team News: QPR: Jordan Archer and Seny Dieng will miss out for the R’s, whilst Dion Sanderson serves his final game of suspension, with Stefan Johansen likely to return. Luton Town: Sonny Bradley and Gabe Osho are out, whilst Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu is back. Pre-match talk: Mark Warburton (QPR Manager): “We are looking forward to it, we know what it means to the supporters, the derby nature of the game, the obvious league table position right now and for our own pride. We have been on a poor run, but we want to produce a high energy and good quality performance in front of the travelling QPR fans that’s for sure.” Mick Harford (Luton Assistant Manager): “We are in very similar positions, in terms of games won and goal difference. There is absolutely nothing between us in terms of where we are, maybe apart from the one point we are ahead of them. Queens Park Rangers are a good team, a good outfit. They’ve got some really good players, they play a certain way and Mark has got them playing, at times, some very special football.” ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
This is where we emerge from our Feb hibernation and go on an 11 game unbeaten run to the play offs....
****ing hell. Have to miss this, on picking family up from airport duty. Just had a look at the fixtures, next one I can make is Derby on Easter Monday. Going to miss Fulham because of daughters delayed graduation. Balls.
I'm afraid I can't see much to get excited about here. Would bite off the proverbial hand for the draw.
We’ve got to be up for this match after a dismal display against Cardiff & the bollocking they got, I think it will be all guns blazing v Luton & come away with a win
I really wish I could share your optimism and hope to be eating a slice of humble pie come Sunday 3pm. One small advantage might be that by Sunday we will be further adrift so the task / target is crystal clear.
Apart from any bent match officials or players I don't think anybody knows what the result of this game will be, or knows if we will finish the season top 6 or not. So I'm with you Jeff, showing some optimism will benefit the players, increase their confidence, also the support at the game. Talking us down all the time which I think too many QPR supporters do all too often does the exact opposite. We have a very good record against Luton.... Come on URRRRR's.
Well said.. At some point our form will turn for the better. Just as it did for the worse a few games ago
What exactly is the latest information, facts not speculation please, about the injuries and illnesses to Charlie Austin, Lyndon Dykes and Seny Dieng? Having them back and firing on all cylinders will help
From the offy... In terms of team news, Warburton has confirmed that Stefan Johansen and Charlie Austin have returned to training, whilst Seny Dieng of course remains side lined with Lyndon Dykes facing a late fitness test ahead of the trip to Kenilworth Road. He explained: “Stef has trained all week and has looked very sharp and very good; Charlie is back in today and after doing some introductory work whilst the boys were off has worked hard and both will be available for selection. But Lyndon will have a late test before we travel to Luton. “Seny is frustrated for sure he wants to play football, but injuries happen, and we are very fortunate to have someone as professional as David Marshall to be able to step in and fill the gap left by Seny.”
