Lets say you live in a bungalow, its a sunny day so you leave a window open on the latch. Your kids bedroom is on the side of the house and has just gone to bed. Its evening and your having a couple of glasses of wine outside in your back garden. You go back to check on your kids and they are gone. That is not much different than what happened. Now for the record I am VERY against what they did abroad, if they drugged her to go to sleep or something so they could have a good old chinwag at the restaurant is a huge mistake. Chaos I am with you on this that they deserve punishment for what they did but NOT THAT PUNISHMENT and certainly MM didn't deserve it either.
yep... I mean mother of Bulger made a mistake leaving her son outside a shop in a mall ... she never got this abuse because I think people had more compassion for the crime than a witch hunting mentality back then. I can't help but feel for these people ... I've made mistakes in my life, but thankfully I was punished so severely for mine ..
I think it's clear the parents were not the killers. Hans Christian Wolters, a spokesman for the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office, said: "We are assuming that the girl is dead. "With the suspect, we are talking about a sexual predator who has already been convicted of crimes against little girls and he's already serving a long sentence."
Sorry meant their other children. Having sympathy for them doesn't have to equate to them not being punished for what they did imo. There's a middle ground here... it's not black and white.
I think they learned a lesson already... I see bad parenting all the time .. kids wondering around while parents watch tv... luckily a serial child killer want around that day I guess.. I'm not condoning what they did, but I don't think any further punishment is necessary... their daughter was raped and murdered it would appear...imagine that and imagine living knowing your error... also the other kids still love their parents and I doubt they'll be left alone anywhere , but others across the globe will be, but won't end up killed thankfully
Let me put it another way, let's say a parent was giving their two young children heroin and one overdosed and died. Would you say that oh they've been punished now and have probably learnt their lesson? Or that actually, they've proven that they're ****ing irresponsible parents and should be treated as such?
Maybe we shouldn't prosecute people who kill while drink driving, as them having to live with it is punishment enough init.
Slightly different case and circumstances mate, no less wrong all the same. There was CCTV footage, tragically and ultimately a body...everybody has had closure on this one, albeit it will live with the mother for the rest of her life. MM disappeared, nobody knows how or where to or who took her. She is still missing, nobody has been charged with anything, all we have had are suspects over the years...including the parents. Their body language and reactions immediately after and since are what make people question whether they are culpable or not, none of this in itself is an accusation of whether they are or not....speculation based on observations/facts. Regardless of what happened to MM, the parents have escaped punishment for negligence out of sympathy because their daughter is still missing and possibly because they have other children. I have kids myself who were around the same age as Maddie at the same time all this happened. No way in hell would I even leave them alone in bed to go and sit in a neighbours garden and have a few drinks/food in this country let alone going out all night for dinner and drinks with friends in a foreign country. Like I said all that appears to have been overlooked out of sympathy.
it's an interesting one that, but that harm was worse imo. They didn't deliberately throw there daughter at the feet of a rapist murderer. Like I say imo there's no greater punishment imaginable for their error, so for me it rather help a person back on their feet than kick them while they're down. I've been in some ****ty situations myself through my own actions and there was always some **** there saying " well you should've tbough about that at the time " the fact was I didn't need telling I just needed help at that point.. There's no argument they ****ed up mate I get that
Why do you keep banging on about rapists and murderers? Not all kids who are kidnapped are raped and/or murdered nor are all kidnappers rapists or murderers. Nobody knows who took her, or even if someone actually did.
I think what I said last night has been proved correct I can't be arsed explaining again , but check BBC news and let me know when you figure it out
Yes that one was a bit extreme but the point is a crime is a crime, they gave a toddler sedatives and left her alone. Regardless of the awful outcome they should have been punished for that, same as anyone else would have been. What about the drink driving one? 99% of drink drivers will complete their journey without problem and the worst possible outcome is killing somebody. So we don't prosecute in that situation right?
Yeah they get done... in this case the murderer gets done and the parents lose a toddler and live 13 years without closure and then it would appear get confirmation she was most likely raped and murdered by a sexual predator... not only that they have to live knowing they could have prevented it... make a me feel sick imagining such a punishment, so for me leave it there is all im saying mate.
This the same guy who they investigated a year ago and couldn't find any evidence. The same guy who the Portuguese police Sargent said they would try and pin the crime on and use as a scapegoat in order to try and close the case.
