I've said before on this thread, the damage we did in those few years and them not getting a sniff of actual revenge broke them.
If we were to draw them in next season’s FA Cup although strong favourites they would be ****ting themselves.
Has he mentioned they were down to 12k attendance before football was invented in 92. or the 10k season tickets ashley gave away......not sure he they needed to give the away...they support the team not the regime & cant help who owns them can they I agree with post just above that 6 in a row broke them....they were odd before but that pushed them over the edge
Please tell me that the Elton John bit that he got himself all upset about is the video with Alex Neil. I mentioned the other day that tweet or the lines accompanying that video were tongue in cheek imo. As the tweet was a re-write, with Newcastle swapped for Sunderland, of a tweet that one of their players put out when at a concert through there. Same bloke probably lapped it up when it was a tweet at a music concert mentioning our fans!
Indeed it was. Was it Alex Neil? Not entirely sure but either way, the guy who posted it even shared trippier’s “Sunderland where you at” with the label “context”. Yet thus mag, who saud the rivalry is dead, turned it into a “Sunderland fans are ****e” thing!
I'm glad he shared that, as it was obvious it was about that but I knew mags would see it and think the lad was serious. Not sure if it was or not looked like him.
I was always ambivalent about mags, despite once working in an office where everyone else was a mag. That all changed on an occasion when I watched a Sunderland game on tv in a pub. I’d been in the pub many times when a Newcastle match was on. The Sunderland supporters would just let them get on with their game. On this occasion the black & white bustards cheered every good move the opposition made and one of them grabbed the remote from the bar and started switching off the tv and then hiding the remote. Our numbers were about evenly matched so after this had happened a few times things started to get ugly (not the mags, they were already ugly) and the manager stepped in and threatened banishment. That was my introduction to how childishly spiteful they can be. But, there are a lot of good ones, and I suppose even we have one (or maybe even two) spiteful supporters.
Post Hall, it is well known all over the country that their following had grown ever more needy and delusional. But this latest business of being hired as the cloak of respectability to a medieval regime, ran by a psychotic tyrant has turned them into a pitiful sight. A murder of magpies you might say, as it's not just crows who enjoy this appendage. But nothing can save them from permanent ridicule now. Even if Bin Salman gets bored with possessing them and concentrates on executions and persecutions instead, the salivating and grovelling welcome that 90% or more gave him has left them permanently stained. Their club has gone, and what was left of their reputation has gone.
I like that... Gonna ask the Mags at work that. It sounds like a philosophical question....with a real kick in the nuts answer, which they probably won't get.
