To be honest his record with you isn't too bad when you think of the players that have been sold from under his feet. Imagine if you'd keep cabaye and the rest. Maybe you should have a few seasons of the managers we've had lately before you moan about Pardew.
I disagree mate, it was the only time I was seriously worried. He won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup with little Ipswich then trophies with Porto & Barcelona. Given time he'd have won a trophy at Newcastle ...... ..... instead you've had Kinnear, Allardyce, Pardew, Hughton, Keegan, etc etc who've never won a thing as a manager.
The main problem ambition wise is Mike Ashley. Although he has stabilised the club financially. Pardew has not done that well given his resources and his defensive mindset (with crap defenders) does not endear himself to the supporters. Neither does his arrogance
Sorry autocorrect on ipad.... It changes Mary poppins to anal sheep shearer.... And Steven Taylor to complete bellend.
Was he not 71 when sacked? He probably only had a couple more seasons left in management. I suppose the truth is we will never know. The Chelski effect might have had an impact perhaps?
To be brutally honest, without Ashley, I'd be sat in the stands of Bootham Crescent wishing the club I have supported since 1993 were still in existence.
Alex Ferguson's older and they've just had 2 attempts at replacing him. If he was still there United would be frightening me next week.
In my mind, Fergie is an exception. He really is irreplaceable for Man Utd. They are going to have to go through a whole culture change and that, coupled with some average players is going to bring them down. I fancy you to get a point next weekend unless RVP turns it on.
I would agree with that. It was his presence, rather than the team itself, that kept it all together. I hated the guy but his managerial nous was second to none.
TBH, as a Durham lad like Robson, it was sickening to see ****ers like Kieron Dyer disrespecting a man who'd been successful in 4 countries. Dyer was a spunkbubble who never won a thing in his entire career but thought he knew better than Robson. IIRC he refused to play for Newcastle, under Robson, in a position he didn't fancy.
Spot on. Incidents like that also cost him his job. It angered me seeing Kieron Dyer play in that Sir Bob golfing event and saying how much he loved and respected him. I wanted to knock the ****er out
