    I’m not a qualified coach. But you don’t really need to be, to see that Cedric followed Mata assuming someone else would pick up James, which no one did. So our defensive coaches need to work on that, because a team should defend as a unit, and in this case we didn’t.

    We did defend much better though, for most of the game.

    There was only one defender who was in position to pick up James; Cedric. For whatever reason, he decided to follow Mata.

    To be fair to the bloke he was caught between two attacking players and was exposed no matter what he did. He tried to cover both and ended up covering nobody.

    Nah, get closer & if the ball goes wide then comes in, he's done his job. Doing neither was lame, and we've seen it all before. In saying that, Cedric did have a good game.

    Cedric, when he watches that back, will also know what he did wrong. And he'll also be pulling others up on their positioning. That's learning, that's fine. Pretending it was okay will get us no-where. Let's be tighter next time, lets stop the Mane's, Siguardson's & Erikson's having such a good time against us.
    Lets learn from our mistakes. Lets make it horrid for the opposition, wasn't that the plan?

    To add to my brief thoughts after the game. I think if I made a combined side I'd only take Rashford, James, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire and De Gea from their team to put to ours. Perhaps De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Vestegaard, Maguire, Danso, Hojbjerg, Romeu, James, Ward-Prowse, Rashord, Ings.

    I think it shows how average Man United are currently, the only teams that struggle against them play against Manchester United and not the people on the park itself. I think the draw was ok, but would have liked to have beaten them at home as we might panic at their place - hopefully not under Hassenhuttl. They do seem weaker without Lukaku, surprised they ditched him. It would be good to win at least one of the next two games to give us some early breathing space.
