It’s as though this is the first preseason game. No energy whatsoever! What do these players do in training?
The setup in the midfield was horrible to begin with. McTominay starting on the right when you have Garnacho and Pellistri. Nothing fresh whatsoever. Fkin horrible!!
Perhaps they are being over-trained, we have a raft of injuries and they all look tired and mentally off their game too.
Hannibal! Always had a quality player in him yet we waste so much money buying useless players to crowd the place. I still can’t believe McTominay started this game on the right.
We're missing key players Varane in particular in defence, while apart from Rashford, too many of the squad are off their game. early days, but you can see where the new signings should improve us - up wards and onwards.
And when we get a real striker, the problems will be fixed. Today showed how badly we needed a number 9.
We have lost 3 games out of 5. Let’s not kid ourselves, there is nothing early days about this. We are in this position due to lack of planning, lack of resourcefulness, and ultimately just downright poor management.
Yeah, who he took off and replaced with Martial! Didn't see any if it so can't pretend to know what happened but, if the team sheet you posted and set up was how it actually occurred, then I have a couple of questions. Like, since when, ever, has McTominay played on the right side of midfield? Having seen the team, I'd assumed it was Erikson and, even then, that would have been massively wrong. Another is why was Amrabat signed if he's not going to get a game in a team that is ****ing desperate for a player of his ilk, playing in his actual best position? What was the point? The last is taking Hojlund off at all, let alone replacing him with another whiney snowflake **** who, apparently, no one is allowed to say boo to. Ten Hag seems to be turning the spotlight right into his own eyes at the moment.
Not sure what happened Was watching the game and Utd were in control So even with all your issues you were dominating Their goal goals in and confidence just falls Even then you still equalised (tough those calls) to have it ruled out Was that the moment the belief dissolved? You do remind me of watching us in the 90s Just when it looks like you have got it sorted something happens almost out of your control Maguire (no way is he or was he ever as bad as what’s been insinuated) but had that issue in Greece - never recovered Greenwood - nothing your club could do about that - in fact I thought the club did really well with that situation Anthony - again nothing you could really do about that Sancho - possibly the only one where you can argue about what’s happened but again I think TH has done right He looked after him first time Second time he goes public Yeah two ways to look at it but that’s 4 quality players I think it will just click at some point if you keep hold of TH - like him as a manager Not wumming btw Can’t wish you luck as it goes against the grain But I am sure it will all turn around Brighton will turn loads over this season Probably including us
The whole team was just fkin poor today. They were lethargically embarrassing. All players missing aside, I wish the players on the pitch will give half as much as Rashford have today. He was the only source of light and even he could have done better. We bought Amrabat who is injured! Left it until last minute that we had no other option on the table. The decision process at the club is unbelievable. When you see the goals that we conceded, you’d shake your head. Brighton literally curved out direct chances at will and unchallenged because we had a huge gaping gap right in the middle of the defence every time. Dalot was largely useless and I’m not sure why AWB was dropped for him. With Antony out today, it meant there was essentially no movement on the right. Reguilon is still new to the team but he actually tried and I think he had a good linkup play with Rashford. As soon as they scored, we essentially turned into preseason mode. It was poor. Most of these points are self inflicted wounds. Maguire and Greenwood were known issues. Maguire barely played last year. So those two don’t count. We knew Varane is prone to injuries and should have had backup for him. Again, very poor planning. I’m not sure why Hojlund was replaced today with someone like Martial. That was another poor decision. Overall, we deserved nothing from this game and the way Brighton played assured football really illustrates what we lack in abundance. ETH should now ask himself if he’s got the methods to get the most out of these players. The system is pss poor!
