Match day thread Monday 31st April 2012 Kick off: 20:00 Title decider. i know it might be too early for a match day thread but i decided to make one early so that the build up to the biggest Manchester derby game start Huge game for both teams, a United win or draw would make them a favourites to go on and win the title but if lose then City would be the favourites to win the title. Sir Alex confirms that if any more slip up and if they lose against City then they are more likely to win the league which denies a pathetic mind games attempt by Mancini claiming even if City win, united are still favourites. Player's to watch: Man Utd: Wayne Rooney: has scored 33 goals this season, one away from his season best (34), he has recently against Everton broke a united record, he is now United's 4th top goalscorer for United. He has scored 4 goals in his last 2 games. He is the best striker in Manchester, he also scored 2 goals against City this season. Nani: since his return from injury he as scored 2 goals and also has few assists, he ahs scored 2 goals against city this season ( in the Charity shield final) Welbeck: he had an fantastic game against Everton, his link up play with Rooney has been fantastic. He has scored one goal against City this season. Man city: Tevez and arguero: the former United player looks like he has been back to his best after having a 5 months holiday at Argentina, he has made a great partner ship with Arguero. Arguero has two goals to his anme against United this season. Kompany: City looks solid at defense when Kompany plays, he has been in good form recently. he was sent off for a two footed challenge on Nani on the last time they met in FA cup. Ryan Giggs has played in Manchester derby more times then anyone. I will update any team news here. We are hearing Evans and Nani are doubts. Now news are coming in that Evans is fit enough to play which is a good news for United since he ahs been great in Vidic's absence. City have Bellotelli back from suspension Team line ups: Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Lescott, Kompany, Clichy, Barry, Toure Yaya, Silva, Tevez, Nasri, Aguero. Subs: Pantilimon, Richards, Milner, Dzeko, Kolarov, De Jong, Balotelli. Man Utd: De Gea, Jones, Ferdinand, Smalling, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Park, Giggs, Rooney. Subs: Amos, Berbatov, Hernandez, Young, Welbeck, Rafael Da Silva, Valencia. Manchester City 1-0 Manchester United Kompany
Rooney hatrick and a comfortable win! One can dream. Want to see us actively looking for the win in this game rather than playing for a drawn. These are the games you just love to be involved in, not sure my heart will agree though!
yep we need to play with our hearts, not be sloppy like against Everton, lets not lose this title, it would be embarrassing since we were 8 points ahead 2 weeks ago but i still believe in United. COME ON RED DEVILS!
In derbys like this everything goes out the window and its a crap shoot. But we need to go for the win because Swansea are no mugs and Sunderland away won't be easy either.
Closed. Far too early. PM the mods on Friday or Saturday to get the thread reopened. Matth too many match day threads being doing far too early and way before games.
Sooooooooooo looking forward to this game, not many games for me to care about that much for the rest of this season until the FA cup and this is a huge one, what the prem's all about Good luck
This game will decide who win's this year's title race, if we win we will need only a point to clinch our 20th title and that would be a great achievement, if City win its not over and i won't think about that. City have Mario Balotelli avaliable after his 3 match ban. United have everyone fit bar Jonny Evans who is a doubt.
hii matth, your back and with a better matchday thread too yep If Evans is out that is a big blow to us, hopefully he's fully fit for monday. COME ON UNITED. my team would be De Gea Jones, Evans( if not fit then Smalling), Ferdinand, Evra Carrick Valencia, Scholes, Giggs, Nani/Young Rooney, Welbeck
Thanks, i could see Owen going on the bench now that he's fit, i hope he's on it, i wouldn't mind a late winner from him.
your welcome, yep If we need a goal then sending on Owen will be great because he can score important goals and when he gets a good chance he is more likely to score
