Agree with the team. Don't think RoKo will play 3cb's with Yoshi away.

    Elija on the bench?

If you lot go at Utd I can see you getting 3 points, sit back and they will get goals.

Wanyama and Shneiderlin is a great midfield nobody is going to tip toe through those two. Ouch!

All I ask is that, just for once, the end of match report isn't "Southampton really should have won given their dominance throughout but once again they come away with nothing/one point". If we outplay them, let's win. Please.

That back four and the Schneiderlin/Wanyama combo gives me a warm feeling.
Still think we need a little help getting the ball in the net - and I don't mean just by playing teams with generous keepers. I think Pelle brings a lot but I do think his conversion rate is low - in the tight games where you only get a couple of chances you need those '1 chance 1 goal' kind of finishers

    and I'll add

..... "...even if it is a scrappy, dodgy, off-side, off his arm then off his arse, kind of goal" to the end of your wish.

The bookies favour United...no surprise as they are at home, but this is all about our ability to score goals from chances. Our defence is better than theirs...they are flaky for a team in 3rd place. We could win this if it is our 'lucky' day and those near misses go in. If we don't score, we will lose because they have the quality to score an odd goal...especially as we tire. Can see no reason that we couldn't win 2-1.

Just checked...surprised to see that United have only let in 5 more goals than us. Shows how perceptions can deceive....however, I still think our defence is better (so there, :emoticon-0110-tongu).

I am hoping that we play our best because then we will be good enough to beat anyone...want to keep this roll going. If we lose, I am going to try and take Ron's advice...don't keep looking at the table. A loss may mean we drop a place, but we have half a season to go and will have played all of the top sides (some twice). It is where we are in May, not the possible zig zags in between.

I reckon we will give them a real test. Any points from this is a bonus but I have sneaky feeling we will fet all three.

Another sign of how far we have come...we may win, lose or draw, but no one would be shocked if we won. Half way through the season and we are still there...all we could ask for.

True, but a lot of this is down to de Gea as opposed to their defensive ability. He has made 57 saves compared to Forster's 36. I would say that our defence is far better organised than theirs, but they have a world class keeper between the stick who is hiding some facts through his strong performances.

Pelle is overdue a goal. Narrow win for us.
