Didn't I just say it proved successful? Doesn't change the fact it was utter bollox. And typical of the preferential treatment you can get if you have enough money. As for the rest, I only support the players on the pitch. I think you'll find most United fans have called him out on what's happened and pretty much every one of them on here certainly have. Something Liverpool fans could learn from when it comes to their players who often defend the indefensible to the point of losing all credibility. You still got your t shirt btw?
Thought we were talking about legal/criminal cases? But if we're not, have you ever had a Rio or Schmeichal shirt?
I agree with trebs...if he just took the night in the cells, a bit of a fine then this would have been embarrassing for a while but this could all blow up in his face. I can't imagine any law enforcement or judiciary been sympathetic to a foreigner saying anything bad about their officers. He goes through with this hes ****ed!
I'm sure I've see Diego on the telly defending someone in a court room. Ah yes, the defendant was a Captain Edmund Blackadder...I remember that exact strategy from the defence council...
An "expert on Greek law" said on 5live today that it usually takes about 12 months for a re-trial, plenty of time to come to some amicable agreement with the right people/person before then
Ashden Morely, their friend with them. He claims they 'defended themselves' against officers not in uniform because they thought they were being kidnapped. They concluded they were being kidnapped when they got to the police station. So the argument is not whether they assaulted officers, as to whether they thought they were police in the first place. And according to this witness, they concluded they were not police when they were driven to the police station. Yes, and we may wonder why the judges didn't believe that and believed the police instead.
Don’t know what it’s like in a Greek Court, but in this country when it comes down to the police’s word against that of the accused, the courts tend to lean heavily toward the cops. Maguire’s lawyers will obviously go in hard on the police, trying to discredit them and pick holes in their evidence. The prosecution lawyers will try to do the same to Naguire. The cops will have one advantage over the pissed up English bloke, in that they will certainly remember what did happen. I wonder btw if Greek courts are as sympathetic to pissed up Brits kicking off in resorts as, say, the Spanish ones are?
The police said they just wanted an apology. Instead Maguire doubled down on his claim that it was everyone else's fault but his.
Are Man Utd writing off 12 months of football by keeping Maguire captain so he can still use his "do you know who I am" defence?
Whenever I see people fighting I'm just reminded how we're advanced chimps. Instantly rolling all over each other screaming like ****. you see the exact same at the zoo
So the keeper Hendersons new contract is 120k pw. Im all for utd handing out big contracts and that but that seems quite excessive considering he's only had one decent season in the prem. Perhaps a sign that de gea won't be held in such high importance as previously experienced, which tbf could be the best thing for him. Having some actual competition. 120k a week though, kids made it already.
