Feliz Navidad, Mele Kalikimaka...Merry Christmas ya filthy animals wherever you are in the world. Boxing Day Kick off at Old Trafford is a 5:30pm affair and is live on Amazon Prime. A return to winning ways for the toon (and me with my matchday thread) last time out puts us level on points with our next opponents thanks to the festive mood of their keeper and their defence against watford. Enjoying the festive period off due to their respective injuries are ASM, Lascelles, Ritchie, Ki and Clark, Dummet is doubtful but Willems should be back. Kevin Friend is on whistling duty with Mike Dean rattling his ear from the VAR studio. I fancy us for a draw and I'm going for a 1-1, Carroll bagging our equaliser. Enjoy the festivities lads and lasses, eat drink and be merry and stay safe.
If they lay into us like they did against City and Watford I think we will get a draw or steal a win. We are a good defensive side with a lethal counter and a good threat at set pieces, it's exactly what Man Utd hate to play against. They're not a fantastic side, in all honesty. Play as we do, we can get something from this, try something stupid and we will lose.
Extremely unlikely we'll get any points and I expect Salford's first team to win 2 or 3 nil, but a win for us would probably put us in 7th place with half the season gone... Come on Santa, prezzie time!
Its unfortunate that we have now moved into the top half of the table just before this game as Man Utd's results against top half sides have been much better than against bottom half teams. However based on the fact that we are actually playing more like a bottom half side I am going for a 2-1 win with Almiron getting them both (he's on fire).
Think we’ll definitely get a result from this game. It will be the classic game of two halfs with football being the winner. and Crone better not go to the Pub to watch it or all his Christmas’s won’t be merry.
I'm calling it. 0-0, 90+ mins, and Manure have a corner. Suddenly Brucie comes bounding over from the touchline to rise, and meet, a cross that he bullets past a hapless Dub. Cue wild celebrations as Bruce rips off his unflattering Toon tracksuit to reveal a full 1991 Man U kit.
Somebody just quoted this statistic on the PL General Matchday Board. Man United have only won one game this season where they have had more possession than the opposition. They may as well not even bother turning up on Boxing Day:
