A recent enquiry about the possibility of my lad being a mascot. He’s desperate to be one at City.

You have to pay for the privilege unless you get on one funded by a club partner.

The cost - £250 surprisingly they have pretty much immediate availability. I wonder why that is?

Another thing that is very wrong with our club. But given they don’t even have concessions, hardly a surprise.

I don’t know if other clubs charge for this ‘Privilege’ but FFS City - next generation of fans and all that.

    I’d try Rob!

I know someone who was a mascot for the White ****e game at our place for nowt.

I’m not tight or skint I’m just surprised clubs charge for it. I’m sure it was free back in the day. If the club had anything about themselves they wouldn’t be charging for this in my opinion.

I wouldn't even attempt it, we know how skint the owners are.
Back in the day (think 82) I was in the dug out on an open day and my parents was approached and asked if I would be happy to have my pictures taken for the launch of the Tiger cola (ended up been in the HDM in the chairman's chair and high kicking with the cheerleaders :) )

Does the mascot also get to watch the game for that fee?

For £23 extra they probably do. Not sure to be honest. I would expect they do.

The cost is an absolute joke. Imagine how many kids they could inspire to support our team with an experience like this or waving a flag before the game on the pitch like a lot of other clubs do.

    It’s a quick win.

What does it actually include? One child and two adult tickets plus a programme and the experience?

I always assumed you put your name down on a waiting list or it got drawn out of a hat . Can't believe you have to pay that much

Most things are overpriced and undersold at our club. Player sponsorships, executive/corporate tickets and mascots to name a few.

Any club in our position should not be taking the piss like that.

Future generation, class it as something for the community. Given how many millions they have given to various concerns - it’s a complete piss take charging £250 for a child to be a mascot.

The sooner they **** off the better when all these things that keep on coming out of the woodwork can be properly addressed.

When my lad was first a mascot (1994 v York), think the charge was £35 and that included getting a full kit from the club! He was also mascot for the first ever game at The KC as it was then, against Sunderland, what an evening that was! Great memories.
