May as well kick off the afternoon's football chat. No team news yet (that I've seen), although Snodgrass is at Carrow Road, so can't rule him out. It's Turner's birthday today, for what that's worth! Good to see Liverpool and Southampton are doing us a favour so far.
Pretty unsure about this game, got this horrible feeling we will either draw or lose. Looking at the West Ham team, you would feel we should win it comfortably, but not sure how confident our team is feeling at this time.
Evening, budgies, hope you don't mind if I join you for the match? Big game for CH, but I see no reason why, given the right set up, you couldn't get a win this evening, say what you like about CH, but his teams have turned over bigger teams than the Shammers (at home)
Ruddy; Martin (c), Turner, R Bennett, Olsson; Snodgrass, Howson, Fer, Pilkington; Elmander, Hooper. Subs: Bunn (GK), Whittaker, Johnson, Bassong, Hoolahan, Becchio, Redmond.
So! Back to the 4-4-2 huh? Let's see if it works better then. Personally I am not convinced with the lone striker. Yes it works for some teams, but not so good for us so far.
I'm a bit concerned about how we are going to compete with West Ham's six midfielders with that formation.
or a 4-3-1-2 with Howson just siting behind the front two. Not quite a diamond in midfield but getting close.
Very happy with that, expect Elmander to play a slightly deeper role. Good to see Redmond's recovered enough for the bench. Hopefully by our next game Tettey will be the only major absentee.
West Ham line-up: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Collins, Tomkins, Rat, Noble, Nolan (c), Collison, Downing, J.Cole, Morrison Subs: Adrian, O'Brien, McCartney, Maiga, Jarvis, Diame, C.Cole 4-6-0 then by the looks of it, unless I'm missing something. Good to see Diame only on the bench.
