    WATFORD FC V SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

    Team news from from www.espn.com

Joel Ekstrand is suspended for Watford's home clash against Sheffield Wednesday as Gianfranco Zola's side chase a first win in nine matches.
The defender picked up his fifth booking of the season in last weekend's 3-3 draw at Leeds and duly serves a one-match ban. Midfielder Almen Abdi is not yet ready as he steps up his rehabilitation from a long-term foot injury while it is hoped goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is okay to feature after illness. Lloyd Doyley (hamstring), Essaid Belkalem (ankle) and Tommie Hoban (ankle) remain on the sidelines.

Sheffield Wednesday caretaker-manager Stuart Gray could make one or two unforced changes to his starting line-up. Gray, who will take charge of his third match for the club following the recent sacking of Dave Jones, has no new injury or suspension worries, but will still be without Giles Coke and Lewis Buxton. Midfielder Coke missed last week's home defeat to Nottingham Forest due to a hamstring injury and defender Buxton remains sidelined with a similar problem that has ruled him out of the last two matches.On-loan pair Glenn Loovens and Damian Martinez are expected to retain their places in defence and in goal respectively but Gray may make changes elsewhere following the 1-0 defeat to Forest.

Some early team news from the Hornets http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._ready_but__number_one__Almunia_could_return/
    and Owls http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk...eish-and-brown-waiting-in-the-wings-1-6309086

Comments welcome <magic>, enjoy the game <cheers>.

Renewed optimism after two hard-fought draws? I think so, we might even win this one but after Yeovil you never know...:emoticon-0112-wonde

Nice one Mex - 5*'s from me.
I think it will be back to winning ways with a 2-1 win.
I am missing the game as we are in Ayr for a 21st birthday party. Get back on Sunday afternoon and I am then off to London in the evening for a gig - going to be a tough week-end. Guy I am going to see has written the sound track for the musical version of American Psycho which opened in London last week and is completely sold out...gutted I cannot get a ticket and just hoping they will extend the run.

No Ekstrand tomorrow so guess Angella will come in (or Hall)

Cannot see too many other changes.

Abdi still not fit it seems.

The Owls haven't kept a clean sheet all season..

    thanks Mex, good job :)
i hate to use clichés but this is a must win game. Oops, i said it ;). Still, i believe our season is slowly coming together...very slowly! But..we're going to win tomorrow and the score will be 3-1. ;)
Fessi has scored 3 against them in 2...so if he doesn't start i'll be gutted!

Having a not so quiet fume here over delivery drivers who do not want to work Saturday afternoon, so say that my parcel has the wrong address and cannot be delivered. <grr>

I hope that the team can put on a good show and cool me down a bit.

Hi Frenchie. Just been woken by a little girl having a bad dream. Quite fortuitous really.
